Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION I just hiked 2650 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail (which was absolutely incredible) and now I’m trying to adapt to ‘real life’ again..which means travelling, writing and meeting people all over the world to share unique experiences.
ABOUT ME I am an open-minded person, who is very interested in meeting people and talking about everything ;) I have a strange sense of humor and love to discuss 'uncommon' topics..
PHILOSOPHY life is stranger than fiction
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfing and hosting? And communicating ;)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed a few times in Germany, the UK, India, Singapore, Australia, the US, Canada, Panama etc. and really enjoyed meeting my hosts so far :)
Interests
travelling , exploring, writing, reading, doing things for the first time (especially the ones outside my comfort zone or as Rumi puts it "live there where fear is living"), going out with my friends and having a great time, meeting new people and loose myself in good conversations, dancing, talking, music, experiencing my own limits..and getting over them ;)
Music, Movies, and Books
depends on my mood..
Movies: Slumdog Millionaire, Blow, Oldboy, Lost in Translation, Adams Aepfel, Natural Born Killers, Requiem for a dream, Crank, David Lynch movies in general..and game of thrones of course..
Music: electro, grunge, punk, alternative and jazz is growing on me..muse, bush, incubus, boysnoize, crystal castle, hole, stone sour, ludovico einaudi (andare!), turbostaat, frittenbude, egotronic, richie hawtin, placebo, monika kruse..
Books: reading is my passion and I am reading at least three books at the same time (one of my favorites about India is still Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, read it!). Milan Kundera and Siri Hustvedt are right now on my mind. Suketu Metha, Rohinton Mistry, Yann Martel, Sylvia Plath, Arundathi Roy, Franz Kafka, Alice Munro, Tom Wolfe, Hemingway, Ian McEwan, Moliere, Sartre, Dirk Bernemann, Musil, Moliere, John Irving, Salinger, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and I do have a weak spot for Russian authors..it is a never ending list and the book pile next to my bed is growing and growing..I should probably get a kindle, but I love the smell of books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked through the grand canyon; Lived alone in Varanasi (ok, you're never alone in India, but you know, what I mean) Felt the energy, which is surrounding the mayan ruins in Mexiko; thruhiked the Pacific Crest Trail
Teach, Learn, Share
Good questions..I can teach you some german, which could be fun. Or how to play the mandoline :)
I believe that every action in life has a good side..so maybe I can help you discover this good thing in even the worst action..
I always want to learn..so whatever you can teach me, would be amazing. Right now I try to get into Hindi, which is really difficult for me..but it is getting better :)
