About Me

Fourth year economics student from Oslo. The social kind that is, not the business one. Love travelling largely because of historical buildings (I had a brief period when I was younger where I wanted to become an architect), but also because beer and food in literally any other country is cheaper than in my native Norway. The climate also tends to be slightly less unforgiving when I’m abroad, which is a plus.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It seems like a wonderful way to travel and explore foreign cities, provided I don’t get murdered in my sleep. At home in Oslo I unfortunately don’t have a spare bed to share, but I will make sure to update this account should that ever change.

Music, Movies, and Books

Musical taste varies, but my Spotify discover weekly playlist is about 70% metal, and my favourites include Behemoth, Rammstein, Kvelertak and Firewind (I’m a normal person though, promise!). Other than that, I’m also a sucker for punk and hard rock, with a little bit of rap mixed in even though I think Drake is completely talentless.
I’ve never been very good at watching movies, probably because of my terrible attention span. But movies I’ve watched more than once include The Dark Knight, Downfall, The Chamber of Secrets and Kill Buljo (a Norwegian parody of Kill Bill, absolutely hilarious).
I don’t really read a lot books any more, partially because I spend too much of my time reading articles on the internet (not just memes), and partially because of the aforementioned terrible attention span. But I do have a couple of favourite authors: Jo Nesbø, Dan Brown and J.K. Rowling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived a 41.7° fever while I was living in Vietnam as a child. It wasn’t the bird flu, thankfully.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m sometimes told I can make decent food, but I’m not yet sure whether that’s objectively true or because centuries of eating fermented fish and dried sheep meat has lowered the standards of Norwegian tastebuds. Other than that, I’m usually good at finding a conversation topic with most people, so maybe I’ll be able to entertain you with that.
