Overview
About Me
I grew up in KC and was fortunate to have a family that loved to travel. I am warm, friendly, and enjoy meeting new people. In high school i lived in Argentina with a host family for a summer which was an unforgettable time. I went to college at Duke and one of my favorite parts of going to school there was the diversity of people and the friends I made from all across the globe. In college, I studied abroad in Barcelona for a semester. I graduated from Duke in 2012 and went on a 2 month trip to Southeast Asia with friends.
Since then I have worked at Cerner (largest health care IT company in the world; headquartered in KC). I started as a Latin America implementation consultant which took me frequently to Mexico City. I then started in Sales and I now sell our Population Health solutions in the Southwest US. I travel about 60% of the time and enjoy it. I like sales because it allows me to meet new people and travel.
This summer I am planning on going back to Argentina with some college friends to ski and visit my host family. In the next couple years I hope to visit Japan, Turkey, and explore more of France and Italy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
People are my passion and I love meeting fellow travelers from diverse backgrounds. I heard about Couchsurfing from a fellow KC Duke alum, Mike Saxton and I feel it would be fun to meet new people and tour people around KC (a very underrated and interesting city). I travel a lot for work and have a ton of airline/hotel points so I don't feel I'll crash on many people's couches but I think hosting could be a blast.
From a scheduling standpoint, I travel a lot during the week so weekends generally work best for me but I do typically have one or two weeks a month where I don't travel so go ahead and request either. In general, I am probably not looking to host people for more than 1-2 nights (hosting can be tiring) but I may make an exception so feel free to ask.
Interests
I like to meet new people, travel, ride my bike around town (I have an extra one for a couch surfer), explore new restaurants/bars, play tennis/golf/basketball, running, hiking ancient temples, snorkeling coral reefs, sea fishing, staying at eco-resorts, trying interesting food/wine, hanging at Woodside (local health club), chilling at my lake cabin (jesting, boating, fishing) , etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like many different types of music. I like music with a good beat that is upbeat. Chromeo, Cut Copy, Nelly, Pitbull, classical, blues, soul/motown. I am not particularly a fan of country and strongly dislike dubstep and heavy metal.
I am a voracious reader of Google news and always keep up with current events/geopolitics. Empire of the Summer Moon was my last read. It was a great read and as a history major it was right up my alley.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ate a cobra in Vietnam.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy conversation and exploring new places. Hosting is one of my favorite things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I will bring you a bottle of KC barbecue sauce or wine (let me know which you prefer).
