About Me
Switching from medicine to starting my own nonprofit based around public domain (free) teaching and art and photography/travel! I decided to go with what I want to do and what I'm passionate about and not what other people tell me I should do vicariously ;) hi mom love you!
I
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travel and meet fun interesting people!
Interests
Random Things I Like: the outdoors, environmentalism, diet and exercise, music, comedy, punning, gaming, reading, lying in the sun.
I love trying new things - new foods, travel, meeting people, learning new things. If the idea of visiting every country and trying any food at least once in your life interests you, we'd probably get along!
I play guitar and piano but I'm not amazing at either, particularly :) A few recent songs I've been practicing include some Jim Brickman and John Legend on piano and then some Eric Clapton, The Cure, RHCP and Maroon 5 on guitar, I like a bit of everything.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like reading a mix of things, from spy novels to sci fi to historical fiction. I like a series so I have a few to read in a row; when I'm not exhausted with reading for school, I tend to consume books rather voraciously. Most recently though - well not so much recently. Any good suggestions?
Movies - I'll go with the first few that pop to mind across genres, there's so many! Blade Runner, Snatch, Blow, Almost Famous, Amelie, Brazil, Big Lebowski, Batman (the most recent few). Apparently I mostly like movies that start with A and B?
Shows - House of Cards, Archer, Homeland, Modern Family, 30 Rock, House, How I Met Your Mother, Game of Thrones, Rome, Arrested Development, The Office, Orange is the new Black
I like most anything but the twangiest of country (you know, that "I leeeeeft mah heeeart in Teeeeexas" stuff), but I'm generally quite open minded, and I'm embarrassed to admit I like some pop including some recent pop country.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Study abroad in rural Kenya without electricity for 6 weeks!
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to share my experiences! I love teaching and sharing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Travels, other life experiences and fun conversations, and hopefully some companionship as you show me around town! Drinks on me of course. I have a lot of different academic and art/crafting skills (painting, metalworking, glassblowing etc) to share! I'm always down to meet interesting people, and am potentially open to getting to know a host more intimately if we click.
