About Me
Hello there! For a good start, I'll give you the most important information about me: I like it simple! No fancy hotelrooms, no expensive dinners. Just easygoing people, a good ammount of laughter and something tasty to eat! Really, that's basically what I've been looking for since I was born: to see the bright side on the small and simple things we can have. Good friends, good reading, good food, good music. I'm a 26 years old brazilian. I am an economist and I'm really interested in Economics of Development. Yeah, no stock broker stuff, only 'how the heck can we improve those people's lives?' material. I really like telling jokes, reading and most of all a good and old rock and roll. I believe the thing I try the most is to put myself in other people's shoes. Really, not that emotional kind of thought, but I really try to see the world through other people's eyes. So, I try to keep it very ~multicultural~, whatever it means. I've been a volunteer with foreigners in my hometown for 3 years, trying to show them how they can have fun and enjoy my big yet provincial city.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, I believe I'm here to take that 'multicultural' talk to another level. Meeting people in their own country is a very peculiar way to understand their way of living. In the other hand, recieving people from other places is a very good way to show them how we live in my hometown. So, joining you guys in CS is basically about getting real close to other people's cultures.
Interests
I'm into people and their stories. I like food. I love music. I am a motorcyclist with a eternal desire to ride through the world. I'm a runner, an avid reader and I really enjoy the outdoors :)

Music, Movies, and Books
That's an important subject! In order to organize that thing, I'll say 3 of each one of them!
Books:
1. The Master and the Margarita (Mikhail Bulgakov)
2. The Notebooks of Don Rigoberto (Mario Vargas Llosa)
3. O Tempo e o Vento (The Time and the Wind, free translation) (Erico Verissimo)
Music:
1. Rock and roll (AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Wings, Oasis, etc)
2. Brazilian Music (Tom Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes, Chico Buarque, Pouca Chinfra, Casuarina, Bezerra da Silva, Moreira da Silva, Demônios da Garoa, Adoniran Barbosa..)
3. Argentinian/Southern Brazilian/Uruguayan folklore music
Movies (god, it seems like I've forgotten all the movies I've watched):
1. Pulp Fiction
2. Escape From Alcatraz
3. Home Alone :P
Well, there's a lot more, actually. But I think you can get it!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been part of a project called Porto Alegre Guide. It's basically a guide for travelers, more specifically for backpackers. The point is to make the travelers feel at home in my hometown. So we made a super cool map with all the good places we like to go here. It's a 1m² guide, and we also developed an app! There's also a version of it in Bogotá, Colombia. It's for free and it was widely used during the World Cup!
Teach, Learn, Share
teach, learn, share
I can tell you zillions of funny stories! I also can spend hours talking about world History, specially Brazilian History! If you want to learn portuguese, I can teach you how to survive in Brazil :D
About cooking: it's a two way road. I can either teach you and learn with you. It depends on what are we cooking. And these experiences are always good! So let's learn together.
I can teach you how to dance samba! Just kidding, I suck at dancing :/
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer you a good company to chat and laugh, and a guy to fix things at your place, besides helping you with laundry and general house keeping. I can offer you a good dinner, so we can eat a good meal while we talk about anything and everything.
