I’m a metalhead and an outdoor enthusiast from Taiwan.

If you find me interesting and mean to find a host, please take a look at "my home" and note that I can't offer host in Taipei. However, I'm always down to meet up if I'm in Taipei and if I have time.

I come from an island nation located in East Asia, with an area a bit smaller than Switzerland, and cultural diversity, history, delicious food, spectacular natural resources of mountains, creeks, ocean as well as natural hot springs. We are among the youngest democratic countries and we have one of the most liberal and friendly society in Asia. I'm really proud to be a Taiwanese and I'd like to share everything about my country.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Making travel more than just sightseeing and selfie-posting.

Somehow I just feel it very boring, visiting a city, booking a hostel and walking around alone, without any link to other people and coming back with only pictures without stories. I prefer to have deeper connections to the place that I'd visit through the people, and bring something back from a trip.

I also had some great experiences hosting people at my place. It was just so amazing to exchange informations and views with people from completely different cultures, and to find common grounds from them. Basically I'll host as long as I can, but writing a sincere request beforehand is a necessity.

Music, Movies, and Books

Heavy metal and post rock are my love, but genres are just a word. I love, for instance: Alcest, Behemoth, Cigarettes After Sex, Der Weg einer Freiheit, Envy, Fleshgod Apocalypse, God is an Astronaut, Harakiri for the Sky, Insomnium, Mgła, Sólstafir, Opeth, Russian Circles and Maybeshewill.

Basically I love books and films related to existentialism, social criticism, satire and dystopia. Can't list all of them.

I love watching movies, such as Blue Is the Warmest Color, The Life of Others, Fight Club, Handmaiden, The Great Gatsby, The Double, Call Me By Your Name, and so on. I prefer some gay/LGBT romance stories because they are usually more challenging and thus more critical and deeper. I also like some Taiwanese films and I could recommend some if you'd like to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Traveling alone around Taiwan by camping beside a wild hot spring every day.
- Jumped from 21 meters cliff in Oregon.
- Traveling alone in a small Island called Pantelleria in Italy, not allowed to but camped there and slept in abandoned houses for one week.
- Hitchhiked around Iceland in one month, 27 rides, once got picked up by a sheep farmer who lives in Westfjords, worked for him and stayed for few days.
- Also in Iceland: camping beside a wild hot spring surrounded by mountains, bathing while smoking some weed, watching the aurora dancing upon me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love going outside, am currently practicing climbing, bouldering and cliff jumping, and want to learn any kind of outdoor sport, such as Surfing, Canyoning, Kayaking, Diving, Skiing, Parkour, just can’t list them all.

I’m kinda good at cooking Taiwanese food. I’d say Taiwan is literally a food paradise that you must visit once in your lifetime, but if it’s far for you by now, you may have the chance to have a taste by hosting me or staying with me.
