About Me
I am Leonie, an easygoing, openminded, optimistic Swiss girl, who loves to travel. Unfortunately I don't have cows in my backyard and no bestfriend who is named Peter. Just a dad who is. I grew up in a small town called Schaffhausen, located between Zurich and the German border.
After finishing High School I was down for exploring biger places and polish my language skills. So I traveled Australia for nine months, started working as a flight attendant for Swiss Airlines and decided to learn Spanish in latin America. After four years of a traveling lifestyle, I settled a bit and started studying in Switzerland.
Now I live and study in Chur, a tiny town between some beautiful mountains. It's not the hotspot for cultural activities, but for outdoor sports, what gives me the awesome oppurtunity of going skiing and hiking a lot.
When I finish studying I am excited to travel more, experience new places, meet new amazing people, listen to unknown stories and learn heaps about different cultures.
I love to laugh, talk, eat, dance and go out. I adore the evening sun, good music, good wine, good food, photografie, the nature, adventures, Icecream, the mountains, the sea and many other things.
I can't stand hangovers, prejudices, exams, mosquitos, meat, but I try to accept it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
So far I hardly used couchsurfing. That was a mistake! I heard many stories from people who did CS and realised it is the best way to meet locals. Why I wanna meet locals? I don't want to just see the place I travel to, I wanna experience it as locals do, not as a tourist. I want to drink the best coffee in town, dance on the coolest party, eat a typical breakfast and listen to the funniest stories that happened in that place. And I want to do that with good people, and the good ones are those who share. Because they don't just share their home, they also share their stories, their secret tips, their humor...Why I know that? Because that's what I do with my guests!
And there is an an other wonderful thing: Couchsurfing is a special rarity as it's not about money. This makes traveling possible even for low-budget students like me. :)
