About Me

- READ PROFILE BEFORE REQUESTING TO STAY PEEPS -

I'm Leo, a 31-year-old photographer and scuba diving instructor with roots in a small town in the South of France, where I was born and grew up.

My journey into the world began in 2015 when I started backpacking, after quitting a full time job as a marine engineer that I did for four years.

Traveling to places like Western Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and Southeast Asia. The outdoors became my sanctuary, and during my travels, I developed a keen interest in capturing memories with my first camera, a Canon 700 D.

Eager to immerse myself in different cultures, I made it a point to volunteer when I could, embracing the local lifestyle and aligning as best as I could with environmental values. These experiences deepened my understanding of the ways people lived in the places I visited and fueled my passion for documenting the world through the lens of my camera.

Nowadays, I call Iceland home, working as a guide and creating a space to showcase my work. This journey has been filled with diverse experiences, people, and memories that will be with me forever, allowing me to support my passion for photography while staying connected to the beauty of our planet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I'm out on my adventures, I'm a hostel hopper! Bunk beds or private rooms, homestays, hostels, I travel to meet people and share meaningful experiences, and it's often the case, but as travelers, we all had bad experiences too! Now and then, I tried to let the Couchsurfing magic happen, never really used it so far yet

Now, here's the twist – despite being a globe-trotting nomad for the past 9 years, I haven't been the perfect host yet. It's been all about living out of a backpack and catching the travel bug. But guess what? My time to host has come!
Nowadays I have a spot to call home, and I can already smell the coffee brewing or some homemade asian fusion dish for the humans who'll request to stay! 🌍✈️🛋️ Don't be shy

Interests

Spending time spontaneously or in a planned adventure, I'm often up for it, according to the schedule

I truly appreciate meeting some other extroverts who can be in tune with nature and appreciate its beauty and silence, I find it meaningful to share this with a person, like when camping outdoors.
Cooking outside is something special to me, it feeds my soul to step out of the comfort zone of an apartment and appreciate simple ingredients with the vast Icelandic landscapes as the living room
I am also into cold water exposure or simply sharing a nice craft beer and going thrift shopping from time to time
