ABOUT ME

I am a connector.. I love to connect people with each other, and with resources, and I love to go though the world connecting with others, especially those with shared interests or from other cultures. I am a traveller, a lover of kids, animals and nature, and someone who tries to live with social and environmental awareness.I have practiced Vipassana meditation for many years and hope that it makes me a more peaceful person.

PHILOSOPHY

Live with as much awareness and compassion as possible. I love living in a neighborhood which includes people from a variety of races and socioeconomic backgrounds. I grew up in NYC, and have not lost my appreciation for direct and honest communication, or my East Coast, Jewish sense of humor!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love community, and maintain a close network of very old friends, near and far. Included in those are a family of friends here from another country that are struggling to get by. I do what I can to help their kids get their hands on books and have good educational opportunities.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a wonderful woman come and stay with me (we met at the VIpassana center), and she told me about her experiences with couch surfing all over the world. She inspired me to open my home in this way as her presence was such a joy to have here.
I have been hosting couchsurfers for a few years now, and it has been such a positive experience. Most of the travelers who have stayed with me have become friends that I would be thrilled to see again some day. What a great way to build a worldwide community!

兴趣

I really enjoy travelling and meeting people from around the world.I love to get out into nature, and I love to ride and be around horses. I am committed to helping those in my community as well. The time I have spent living , working, and learning in places India, Nepal, Guatemala,Israel and Mexico are precious to me. Vipassana Meditation, creativity, and living a life connected to the earth are important to me.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

A friend and I I got lost on a trek in Sikkim (Himalayas), and were "hosted" by a very poor family of farmers who had never met foreigners before. They fed us their best food, and gave us their only bed, and refused any compensation for their generosity. Their kindness together with those enormous, wild and rugged mountains were amazing in so many ways....

l enjoy meeting people who care about community, and who want to connect with people in a real way. I especially enjoy folks who are interested in doing something positive or creative, and who share my appreciation for all kinds of living beings, cultures, and especially kids!
