About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm Leslie, 21. I'm a Christian, American born Mexican. I grew up and Mexico and moved back to Texas about 5 years ago so... I'm really fond of ol' Texan culture, but at the same time I enjoy cooking Mexican food (So I'll be more than glad to cook for you). I lived in Germany for a year where I learned some german, a good conversational level. I just completed a year abroad in Shanghai where I'd been learning Mandarin-Chinese. I'm passionate about learning beyond the languages; I enjoy immersing myself in a culture, get the raw, local experience. Contrary to what my momma told me, I enjoy talking to strangers, and give worth and acknowledgement to those that are usually ignored.
I'm pretty outgoing, although sometimes I do enjoy time for myself. I wander a little bit too much and I like having Quiet time to pray and meditate. I'm a newbie to wine tasting, which I enjoy.
PHILOSOPHY
Jesus.
It is better to be happy than right.
Everyone in this world has a story worth listening to.
The place where you are doesn't make you a missionary. The mission you're on makes you a missionary.
Respect, for someone's beliefs, opinion, morals and property is one of my core morals. But above everything else, love.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am currently looking for a host. I will be visiting NYC for a U.S.-China relations conference. My friend and I are hoping to explore and enjoy the city for a couple of days.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couch-surfed in Europe several times and I've had amazing hosts. It was truly an amazing experience. I've learne a lot from many cultures and in exchange I made a bunch of Mexican food haha
Interests
I love languages and I want to become a translator.
I practice Wushu Sanda which is a Chinese Martial Art. I enjoy dancing, especially latin music and I've been teaching Zumba for a while now. I enjoy traveling and writing. I'm pretty adaptable and I love to try new things. I like random things like fishing, shooting, photography, landscapes, rowing, cooking and, believe it or not, cleaning haha.
I enjoy talking about traveling and existence(that's sounds really deep, I just like easy-going conversations). One last thing.... I've been taking Leprechaun Jump pictures around the world...yep.
