About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My wife and I are cycling around the world, inspiring others and daring them to realize their dreams.

ABOUT ME

Andrew is 35, naturally curious and wonderfully creative. His life purpose statement, “He is the little boy inviting you out to play.” is fulfilled through his bright personality, lust for unique experiences and enthusiasm for the outdoors.

Amanda is young at heart, and has a strong spirit. Amanda prefers to view the world from behind her handlebars, with the wind blowing through her hair and a smile on her face.

Together, when we aren’t riding bikes, we stay active in others ways including cooking, skiing, rock climbing, golfing, photography, hanging out with friends, and spending time with family.

PHILOSOPHY

We truly believe that the key to happiness lies in spending our time and money on experiencing life.

You only live once and there are no guarantees as to how long you live. Many of us spend a good portion of our lives working towards retirement when we are older. What if you don’t make it to ‘older’? What if you’re not strong enough to do what you had hoped to do? Well there are too many unknowns for us. We are strong enough and we are mentally ready to go. We love riding bikes so much and we want to see the world! Share our adventure with us and follow our blog.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

OUR STORY… We will cycle around the globe to inspire others, share their hopes and dreams, learn about their culture, and spread our love for adventure with everyone we meet. This isn’t a simple vacation, this will be our life! Imagine going on vacation to ride, surf, swim, climb, descend, ski, sail and trek. There’ll be laughter, forging of friendships and unexpected hospitality. There is no adventure without adversity, and these moments will only serve to make us stronger. Except this won’t be a vacation; this will be our life as cycling nomads, venturing forth and sharing our experience with you!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted several cyclists from around the world in our home in Vancouver. We have also spent many nights around North America sleeping in peoples yards, couches and guesthouses.

Interests

I like to play video games and drink coffee. Amanda likes to plot how to destroy my computer, and drink tea.
