About Me
Hey, it's Levi from Hungary!
I'm a Data Scientist by profession and a traveler by passion.
Right now, I'm working on developing my startup in EdTech so that college students do not have to stress as much as I had to with studying for exams. My secret not so secret personal aim with this is to escape that 9-5 employee lifestyle, so that I can be my own boss and travel even more:)
In the meantime, I play tennis and capoeira, trying to live a dynamic and creative life. My current big goal is to reach the 60s handstand hold:)
I also like trips to, well... not so 'legally accessible' places. I'm a big URBEX guy, I like this kind of real, untouched time travel, experiencing the same atmosphere as people from old times.
I have an advanced skill in cracking up on my own jokes anytime. I cultivated this virtue for many years till I refined it to perfection. But as big of a fan I am, of my own humor, I am just as good as an audience if it comes to discussions about life:) I'm always up for a good laugh (nothing proves this better than my current job, which is analyzing memes with machine learning).
Me and my girlfriend Timi consider ourselves a cute couple with also a knick for adventures. If you're down to grab a beer at a pub, we're also your people:)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We fell in love with the idea of couchsurfing in 2021 and after our experience in the U.S, CS forever convinced us that it is the perfect way to meet kind-hearted and awesome people from around the world:
Me and Timi worked as camp counselors at a camp for under-served children in Massachusetts. After camp, we went on a 2-week long journey exploring cities and meeting people of the East coast. In every city we stayed with CS and met hosts with whom we made so much memories I dare say I will even tell about them to my grandkids, when I will get there.

Music, Movies, and Books
In terms of music, I'd call myself an all eater, but I definitely have a weak spot for: Indie, Hip-hop,Jazz and DnB.
I consider myself a bookworm, my favourite authors are Hesse, Szerb and Márai. My motivation for reading, in fact, can be summarized with a Márai quote: ,,I wanted to understand everything, know everything, providing access for my mind to everywhere." I am all curious about world literature as well, it's also a good opportunity to get to know other cultures through the words of their great writers:)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There's a saying I read somewhere, years ago: Tragedy + time = comedy. This sentence resonated with me so much and made me think. Is it possible to reduce the time in the equation to nearly 0, that is, anything unfortunate that happens to you cannot really touch your inner peace, but can only make you smile and wonder how poetic life is. I read about this so-called 'inner peace' in many places and was also able to experience it for shorter periods of my life. Since then, my goal is to stretch these periods into a continuous flow, that is my life:)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some yoga, if you are tired of being stiff all the time (it's okay, I have been there, too)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Our amazing company, instructive and less instructive but more funky stories about our lives, and how to prepare delicious Hungarian dishes!
