About Me

Hey!
Welcome here, let me tell you my story, a story of a ever curious boy from the Hungarian capital.
In my last highschool year, i had a feeling that i will miss an opportunity of a lifetime if i would stay at my country, and would not go abroad for the student years. So August '17 i took the leap of faith, and started the higher education abroad, Denmark namely.
When i arrived i had 3 golden rules in mind:
-Never be bored
-Make a habit about stepping out comfort zone
-See the fun side of the challenges
Then not even a month had to pass, and the world opened up for me. Once these golden rules became a habit, I saw the obstacles as opportunities. Challenges as source of fun. Absence was the reason to create.

However, first semester passed, and the city that has 40 times less people became monotonous. First time in my stay here i met an obstacle that was greater, and way more hazardous than everything before: Nothing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Second semester was about to pass. But then, a miraculous realization came. Something that made a difference.
One day i realized, in the past two months, all i did was studying, hanging out with buddies, sleeping, repeat.
I was busy, but not productive. Everything went gray. I was bored and way too submerged in comfort zone, believing that im not.
That had to change.
It was the excitement for a brand new environment, new people that gave birth for the 3 golden rules i mentioned. For these rules i can thank many great experiences, friends, and even a company.
This is the reason why i wish to meet the world. To reinforce this idea, and share it to whom it excites.
I am the most interested about cultures, languages. But the most exciting part is the difference.

Music, Movies, and Books

It wasnt the music, films, series, books that induced this change, i am amazed by some self improvement books,
i was happily listening to my favorite bands,
(i love when a music has a specific atmosphere, that is powerful, energetic. I mostly find this in metal( Sabaton,Amaranthe, Amon Amarth) , and rock(Paddy and the Rats, Rise Against) however that is not the only genre(Pendulum, avicii)
I was watching my same favorite movies
( Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society, Arrival, The man from the earth)
and series
(Archer, South Park. i havent seen it, but i am enormously curious about house of cards)
But it was never these activities that resulted me realizing that i am nothing at this moment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Something happened a couple of months back, that later on made me realize the difference between being busy and being productive.
Let me tell you a story about Suits, Shock, and Smiles.
This is a story that changed the way i look at new opportunities.
I am part of a volunteering organization called AIESEC. Three times every year we have these conferences where we can meet every other member from the country. On its last night, there is a thing we call "Gala night".
It is a beautiful final event to close the conference, where everyone is dressed in suits and dresses, the alumni meets the current members, and speeches happen.
Of course, the president has a word. Important people addresses some problems. And by tradition, we have a thing called "boy" and "girl" speech, where a guy appreciates the girls, and vice versa.
Unbeknownst to this danger, i was leisurely chatting with a fellow member, when Denis the leader in the team i am in pops up, and cuts in my phrase says: "finally i found you Levente! i wanna tell that in like 30 mins you will have a speech, are you ready?"
-silence-
I was shocked.
The bloke i was chatting with was shocked.
It took me a fine 5 sec to realise, this is a chance i am looking for so much. To improve. It was not about giving a nice speech, it was about getting the courage for a thing you never did before, stand in front of 200 people, and share your thoughts. Show that you believe in the things you say.

I never hated myself so much as i did in the next 29 minutes. i said, "well, lets give it a shot".
I went to that gala totally hungry, yet i couldnt eat.

When my time came, i went up there, all nervous, then i grabbed the mic, looked at the crowd, and suddenly i never felt so chilled. Smiling with my eyes, i told my appreciation, seasoned with my beliefs. (its not about the body, its about the soul).

I was free. i loved it. I never felt so "me" before. i knew i want to do that again.
When it was over, after the gala, some people went up to me to say, it was a nice speech. Each of those smiles meant a world to me.

Having this experience, later on i learned what does it mean to be productive. And why it is infinitely better than just being busy.

Teach, Learn, Share

Having these experiences, i learned that the best opportunities are coming from unexpected places and connections. I learned that its a lifelong challenge to extend connections, yet being aware of opportunities that might show up is also as important.

Since then, i strive to experiment, to try. For me its not about succeeding. Its about trying.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Five, ten years from now, these times will be the "good ol' days". I am pretty sure i dont want to remember that how i almost did something. I want to remember that i had a dream, and i acted for it. How about you?
This story soon continues...
