À propos de moi

My name is Levi DeWitt. I grew up in a small town in the Midwestern region of the United States. In 2013, I moved to La Paz, Bolivia with my family for my father's work. I lived in Bolivia with my family for one year in 2013-2014 and again by myself in 2015-2016. After returning from Bolivia, I got a summer job in Alaska commercial salmon fishing with a local family to save money for college. I continue to commercial in the summers and study during the rest of the year.

I love traveling and exploring new places, but even more, I like getting to meet people from around the world and getting to be a part of other cultures.

I study Graphic Communication and Business at Pittsburg State University. With any luck, I will graduate Spring of 2021. Starting fall of 2019, I will spend a year studying abroad at the Chung Yuan Christian University 中原大学 in Taoyuan, Taiwan. There I'll work hard to get conversational in Mandarin Chinese. And with any luck I'll be able to travel around Easter Asia and get to experience some of the wonderful culture while I live in there!

~~~HOSTING COMMENT
So far, I haven't been fortunate enough to love in a house or city which would allow me host surfers. In recent years I've been living the student life and have moved around frequently, and always live in the cheapest and minimalistic places. So far I've always been in someone else's house, or a house with many roommates, or in an apartment that's too small for a second person. I hope to live in a place that would allow me to host travelers some day, but unfortunately that day has not come yet.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I've become very involved in the international exchange program at Pittsburg State University and want to travel to visit some of my friends in their home countries.
I'm began using Couchsurfing to find places to stay and find tour guides while I'm traveling to meet my friends.
Morceaux de musique, films et livres
My favorite music recently is reggaeton, thanks to my Chilean friends from my university. I'm curious to see what music my friends in Taiwan will itroduce me to next year.
Favorite movies are Pixar movies. Those dudes know how to tell a fantastic story. I watched Coco three times in the theatre and cried more each time. Also, the graphics specialist side of me respects their animation quality very much.
Favorite books are the Enderverse by Orson Scott Card and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World by Bryan Lee O'Malley. Oh, and Harry Potter is an obligatory mention in this list.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Amazing in what regard? I can ride my bike with no handlebars. That's kinda nifty, right? I'm paying for college with money I earned myself instead of taking loans for relying on parents. Not too many people can say that in the US.
The things I'm most grateful for getting to do are volunteering at an orphanage in the Bolivian jungle for a year, learning more than one language, and probably most of all the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people in my short life.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
Not sure what goes here, but once I graduate from college I kinda sorta want to spend another year or two living in a Spanish speaking country working fulltime to finish learning Spanish. Maybe I'll teach English to get situated in the country then switch a fully Spanish speaking job after that.
Then, hey, I might as well do the same with a Chinese speaking country after that to finish Mandarin.
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
I can share my time, my stories, my music, my culture, and bits of the cultures that I've picked up from my friends around the world. I can also cook a bit, but nothing fancy. I've just cooked to keep myself from starving.
