Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live the dream.
ABOUT ME
I'm from Denver, CO, traveled all over the states, lived in Japan and traveled through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, India, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas. I'm a writer, educator, yogi and amateur oneironaut. I love great beer, great coffee, great food, seeing things that blow my mind, and meeting awesome, thoughtful, true humans.
Also, it's not a real 'about me' but here's a poem from Rumi called "Only Breath"
Not Christian or Jew or Muslim, not Hindu,
Buddhist, sufi, or zen. Not any religion
or cultural system. I am not from the East
or the West, not out of the ocean or up
from the ground, not natural or ethereal, not
composed of elements at all. I do not exist,
am not an entity in this world or the next,
did not descend from Adam or Eve or any
origin story. My place is placeless, a trace
of the traceless. Neither body or soul.
I belong to the beloved, have seen the two
worlds as one and that one call to and know,
first, last, outer, inner, only that
breath breathing human being.
PHILOSOPHY
No one knows everything, and most of us hardly know anything. Better to be always learning and bettering ones' self than to profess any sort of knowing of an infinite universe with infinite possibilities. Though most days I still act like I know a lot, and I guess that's all right too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been on CS for years, but never actually used it. I have tons of friends on CS who use and host regularly so I'm very familiar with the concept. I'm going to be traveling through Ireland and Europe and I'm hoping to utilize CS to meet real people from real places and get a more authentic experience.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Ten years ago, before I became a member of Couchsurfing. I hitchhiked around the West Coast and couchsurfed the old fashioned way by meeting by people and asking for a couch or floor space to share. I met some of the most amazing people in my life this way and I really appreciate the trust and hospitality that was given so freely to me. I hope to extend this to others and experience more of it.

Music, Movies, and Books
I devour books. Too many favorites to list but here are a few authors I love: Orson Scott Card, Salinger, Rumi, Kahlil Gibran, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, Jonathan Safran Foer...and on and on. Currently I'm obsessed with comics and graphic novels
Movies: Waking Life, Wes Anderson, the Goonies, Stand by Me, Miyazaki...and on and on, etc.
Music: Anything that has heart and soul and rocks me including but not limited to indie, classic rock, hip hop, folk, blues, jazz, but not smooth jazz. I don't love EDM or anything pop.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One time I was ziplining through a a temperate rainforest in Alaska and watched from above as a black bear went to a stream, caught a salmon and then ran off to the bushes. That's the first thing that comes to mind right now. But I think I've seen too many awesome, beautiful things to answer this question fairly.
Teach, Learn, Share
There's nothing I don't want to learn. I can teach yoga, bits of herbal medicine, and writing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Conversation, stories, I'll take you out for coffee or a beer, I'll cook for you, and I'm a very quiet, clean, respectful guest. In addition, I will write a personal haiku for you or your house if you desire.
