ABOUT ME

I'm 24, English, and on a road trip with my mate Aldo from South Africa. We started in Florida and have just over 2 months to get to the other side to LA. We want to see and do as many things as possible and try to meet some nice people on the way that would like to share their culture and stories with us.

PHILOSOPHY

To just be happy and try to find out what I want from life. If I feel good in a place the I stay, if not then I keep searching. Im happy to say that Norway has kept me feeling good for over a year and a half now. I am quite philosophical at times, as I have grown up I tend to think about things quite deeply. Ask me a question and ill give you my opinion :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been a part of Couchsurfing for a couple of years now and have done my fair share of both surfing and hosting. I love the community and meeting new people in often random circumstances.

Right now is my travelling time after a long season working in Norway. Me and Aldo don't really need to surf at peoples places because we know it can be a burden at times, especially when 2 people visit at once. So just to meet up and socialise is really cool. If we like a place then we can always stay extra days, we basically make our plans on the day we leave!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I took a trip on my motorbike through Europe on my way up to Norway during March/April 2013. It was my first experience and I was really overwhelmed by the generosity and kindheartedness of people in the couchsurfing community. Now I feel as though it's time to give back and I'm looking forward to it.

Interests

My number 1 interest at the moment is speaking Norwegian, i feel it's important to learn and try to integrate with the local nordmenn. I'm into motorbikes of course, although right now I haven't bought mine here to Norway as i decided to bring my car instead. I basically just want to see and do new things. I believe the best way to do that is to meet new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I was very lucky to grow up and have many musical influences as a child. Now I can honestly say I don't listen to a particular genre/band. For me mood is the most important thing when listening to music, thats why I find it so hard to explain my tastes. I like a bit of literature before bed. Usually a nice bit of fantasy fiction goes down well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While in Catania, Sicily a while ago the volcano erupted in front of my eyes. It was a special moment for me to see the power of mother nature!

Taking my tour through europe really opened my eyes to the world around me. I'm sure my travelling days are not over yet but it's great to get a new perspective on life away from home.

Teach, Learn, Share

All the things I feel I am nervous or scared about I have learnt to just do! They all turn out good in the end and the next time you do it its not scary any more! Its simple but it really works.
