ABOUT ME

Hi I'm Lewis, 23 years old from Coffs Harbour, Australia.

I am back in Canada for my second summer working in the Rocky Mountains. Unfortunately my life took a crazy unexpected turn when the golf course I was working at got totally ruined by a "once in 100 year flood". This has meant I've moved a little further up the road to a place called Canmore, about 20 mins from Banff and 60 mins from the major city of Calgary.

If it wasn't for the amazing scenery and friendly people, I have no idea where I would be or what I would be doing, but for the time being I am just living the dream and taking life one day at a time!

After I finish in Canada, I am planning on heading to the UK and Europe for probably 12 months before returning home.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in staff accommodation so can't really host anyone, but if you're in the Canmore/Banff/Calgary area let me know and I can try to hang out and show you some cool spots!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I moved to Canada it was my first time using Couch Surfing. I have already made some great friends that I will treasure for the rest of my life!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am pretty much open to all kinds of music with the exception of death metal/emo screamo. I am stuck in a time warp, and will listen to 60's-90's music the majority of the time. Huge Billy Joel and Elton John fan as I play the piano. Been lucky enough to see them both live... I don't think there will be too many people my age that can say that.

My favorite film is The Departed. Hate horror/scary movies and will avoid them at all costs. Give me a comedy film any day of the week!

Teach, Learn, Share

My first trip overseas was to Bali. It was such an eye opener, and put everything back into perspective of just how lucky I am. The people over there are all so friendly and helpful, and I try to bring their optimisim into every situation I face in life.

I believe that the CS philosophy of "Teach. Learn. Share" is so important. A wise man once told me: Everyday you should try to learn something new from someone, and teach something new to someone. You will be surprised what you can learn from young kids, as well as what you can teach the older generations.
