About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience the strange and unusual, bike around wherever my legs will take me, try not to take life so seriously

ABOUT ME

I like to wonder about things and make up my own ideas. Discussions on philosophy and how the world works make for great times. I am very chill and non-judgmental and can get along with just about anybody.

PHILOSOPHY

I think that the more variety of people that we meet the better we can be at keeping ourselves human.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently living in a non-surfable location but I still try to share the love by giving rides to hitchhikers. I've had lots of great word of mouth couch surfing hookups in my bicycle travels.

Interests

Science and philosophy, science fiction, thinking and learning, photojournalism, playing in the dirt, camping hiking, backpacking, adventure, meeting interesting people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Science texts, History, How things are made and how they work, Science fiction (Heinlein, Vinge, Bear, Niven) and adventure stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biking all over the US. I love taking the back roads with no destination in mind. just exploring the countryside and looking for interesting places to camp. I have biked 40 of the 50 states and 3 Canadian provences. I like to share photos of my travels with the world on my flickr page: flickr.com/photos/vootriant/

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very passionate about how the earth works (geology) and learning about how the places that I have been have formed over time. I enjoy discussing this with people and teaching them to observe the way the earth works.
