ABOUT ME

A lover of bicycles, beer, cats, and electronics. I've been pretty settled the last few years in North Carolina, but am moving out west to start a new life in California. I've traveled pretty extensively in my twenties, in 25 countries. Working in many jobs from waiter to carpenter to SCUBA instructor to fruit picker. Enjoy open minded people who play guitar, hike, like music shows and good food.

PHILOSOPHY

While not adhering to any religion, I am a practitioner of meditation and believe in the innate goodness of all people. I try to follow the golden rule and live my life to drink all it has to offer. While we all stumble, the difference between mediocrity and greatness is to learn from your mistakes and always push to improve. (while enjoying the moment, haha)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I'm moving in a couple weeks and have an empty house, I won't have much opportunity to contribute sleeping space, though I hope to once arriving in the bay area in California. I'll be looking for hosts in August and September '14 in Denver, Colorado and north-west from there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None of my own, but I've met someone doing it in Thailand, and another who surfed through Central America, and both had great things to say about it.. I thought I'd give it a go.

Survived an earthquake in Indonesia. We were in a small town in Sumatra, with no english speakers near.. I've never seen a street start rippling in waves. Something I've always trusted to catch me was the ground, until that point.
