About Me
Hi im Lex!
I might be a mythological creature and if you say my full name three times in a row i magically appear like Beetlejuice except a lot more confused.
I was born in Las Vegas, raised in the Bay Area of California, and grew up in Chapel Hill/Carborro of beautiful North Carolina.
I've spent a lot of the last few years traveling the country for fun and it's always exciting to me. I've had an awesome array of jobs like going on tour with bands as an artist and merch-guy, beertender, hookah-bar manager, theater projectionist, farmer, henna-tattoo artist and a handful of other things. I can come off as a serious dude sometimes because I have tattoos, wear a lot of black, and occasionally enjoy being a wallflower but I'm anti-judgemental and I don't take anything seriously; seriously! :P
I've been to 30something States now, hiked some of the most gorgeous trails, found some of the coolest museums, I have a knack for finding quirky bars and great music, and as I grow older I get more and more excited about seeing the world!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm currently couchsurfing because im writing about traveling the united States. Do what you love, right?
Interests
Drawing, painting, playing music, and writing are definitely some of my favorite things in the world; though I'm a little out of practice on music right now :\
I love exploring cities, seeing beautiful countryside's and nature spots, hiking, checking out museums, and learning about local history.
Also, though my diet is mostly vegetarian/freegan, being from North Carolina I would love to know what you think is the best BBQ in your area

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Uhm... Way too many things that I consider amazing out there. One amazing thing: when I was 22 years old I decided it was important to me to try to find my father; who I had never met before. I had a friend who really liked riding freight trains at the time and wanted me to try, so I hopped trains, backpacked, hitchhiked, and rideshared my way across the country and west-coast until I found my dad. Turns out he's a pretty cool guy, though that first conversation with him was one of the most awkward experiences of my life, "Uhm, hey dude...are you my pops?"
Teach, Learn, Share
I always enjoy talking about and teaching about philosophies in life, and I'm always curious about how others view the world and or universe. I know a bit about music-theory and I'm always down to share, learn from, or jam with other musicians. I have some martial-arts training and can teach some solid self-defense if you're interested. Im a pretty open-minded dude and consider myself a student of the world so if you have anything you enjoy teaching I'm probably down to learn!
Ive been to quite a few really amazing places all over the country, a lot of which you will never find in a tourism book or travel guide. Chances are, if you like exploring beauty I can recommend somewhere you would like. And I travel enough that if you have a spot you recommend I will try to check it out.
Also, if you can't tell: I'm a jack of all trades kind of guy and I'm almost always down to help so if you need something done around the house or need a hand with a project or want to collaborate on art or music be sure to let me know!
