About Me
Howzit! (as we say locally in South Africa for hello + how are you)
I am an energetic, friendly, positive guy with a passion for travelling. I love exploring new places and learning about the culture that goes with that place. People are the heartbeat of their community and so I prefer to learn from and make friends with locals.
I’m an easy-going guy who is very respecting of other people.
I finished studying in December 2017 and began working at one of the big 5 banks in South Africa in 2018.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that the best way to experience a country is to spend time with the locals. A country is made up of many parts, each important in its own way whether geography, history, architecture, food... But I believe that the beating heart of any country is it’s people. And that is why I love meeting locals.
Sure I want to see the touristy places, but more important for me is to experience a country/city/town in the way that the locals know and experience it :)
I'm solo backpacking Singapore and Malaysia for 3 weeks from 25 July - 15 August 2019. I would like to meet locals and experience their culture, the food, geography, infrastructure, and see what it would be like to live there.
This will be my first time Couchsurfing - looking forward to it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hiked from Cape Town to Zanzibar using only public transport and a limited budget of R500.00 per day (about SGD46 or MYR140). My two friends and I traveled through South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, and Tanzania. It was truly an amazing experience. We went white river rafting in the Zambezi river, bungee jumped from the Victoria Falls, feeding wild Fish Eagles on Lake Malawi, and many more.
