I've heard such great things about couch surfing in general and I'm here to check it out.

Exploring new places and getting to know the locals in an area, getting to grips with the culture and languages on offer.
If you know a good bar and can start an interesting conversation I'll be happy :)

Music: anything grungey or indie-rock, at the moment I'm loving a mixture of obscure indie bands, Blue Oyster Cult and of course some classic Pearl Jam and Pink Floyd.

Movies: preferably either something thought provoking and deep or with lots of explosions :P

Books: If I had more time to read I would attempt to finish Dr Zhivago, The Picture of Dorian Grey as well as rereading Orwell's 1984

I spent a month trekking through the Snowy River Ranges in Victoria with six other teenagers getting very lost and wondering if we'd ever see civilisation again ;P

Spent three months living with a family in Shandong Province in China when I was sixteen, even now the Shandong dialect is a mystery to me.

Backpacked through Indonesia; around Surabaya, Madura and the gorgeous island of Sumanep for a few weeks in 2014.

Walked on a frozen river in Harbin and saw the ice festival for new Years in 2017.

Stayed with a family in Mongolia when it was -40 outside. Also where I met the 20kg black vulture in my profile photo.

Discussed fancy cocktails with drunk Ukrainians on an overheated train from Kiev to Lviv.

I'm majoring in Mandarin and Linguistics at university and am happy to swap language skills and attempt to teach you something ;P

Whatever comes to mind at the time, I'm fairly laid back and happy to go along with the local vibe of wherever it is I end up.
Oh and I make a mean guacamole as well as amazing vegan food :D Also I can teach you the proper way of eating vegemite.
