About Me

As a writer (professionally and non-professionally), there is a part of me that is always excited to meet and talk to people; to listen and pay respect to their stories and life. It's also about discovering and rediscovering the world through fresh and different perspectives, tinged with lifestyles that people from various parts of the globe can share.

I am especially excited to exchange thoughts on books, music, calligraphy, and cultures. Hailing from Malaysia, where food is a big thing, it brings me great pleasure to discuss (or experiment with) culinary delights as well! I'm also what you'd call an 'extroverted' introvert (also ambivert) -- which I'm proud to be, and a concept that I hope to be able to share with people who are interested to find out more!

As a new member to the CS community, I'm unable to host people yet as I'm (a) currently on a year-long trip in New Zealand; and (b) still residing within the same compound as my parents -- both of whom are less adventurous about meeting new people. That said, I'm hoping to get my own space which I can open up to fellow travellers soon enough :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Although I'm not yet able to host people, I've had a great first CS experience, courtesy of a friend who invited me to join her on her own CS adventure. This has inspired me to want to step out of my comfort zone and to explore the CS community, whether through meetups or hanging out with other CS members.

My eventual goal: to have the opportunity to offer a CS experience that is as amazing as my own one day!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Perhaps it may not sound like much, but I'd like to think that putting everything on pause in my life at the age of 30 to go after my travelling dream is a big step to take.

It certainly took quite a bit of courage for me! But thanks to this, it has also opened up plenty of opportunities for me to discover new things about myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe that everyone who has crossed each other's path has something to exchange with one another. In my case, I don't think I have a particular skill to be passed on, but I am happy to explore new things to do with other CS members and learn new things together.

I've also just recently started learning the ukulele, so perhaps that could be something that could be taught, learnt, and shared?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Malaysian dishes, definitely! I'm not an expert at many local Malaysian dishes, but I'd be glad to share what I am able to do in the kitchen with them.

Book recommendations, calligraphy & art attempts, as well as ukulele/music sessions.
