Overview
About Me
Born and raised in Montreal! I'm fluent in French and English. I study farming at Mcgill for the moment. I have this obsession with understanding how our currently very flawed food systems work and trying to be part of the movement towards more sustainable practices in agriculture. I really love discussions on agriculture. I feel like we live in a society where most of us are detached from the origins of our food. If you get closer to learning about the source of your food you inevitably get closer to nature itself.
In my spare time I volunteer at an educational garden that teaches kids about how to grow food and hopefully help them establish more of a connection with nature. I always hope they develop more of a respect for the environment in gratitude for the nourishment it provides us.
I work part time at a center for kids with physical handicaps, intellectual delayments and and troubles in the spectrum of autism. I love helping adapt outdoor activities to varied levels of ability. I believe that anyone can do anything with the right help and that no one should feel left out.
Two months out of the year I am a cherry picker and absolutely love it. I have done 3 seasons so far and I just keep getting better. I love being transient and being part of this community and learning from all sort of people from different walks of life. I enjoy doing piece work it a well need mental break from doing so much community and support work.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
''A rolling stone gathers no moss" . I like it when things are ever changing and evolving. I am always seeking new places to see and people to meet. I'm obsessed with travelling and learning as many new things on whatever journey
Interests
I love travelling, clearly since I am on couchsurfing :-P I love outdoor adventure; hiking and kayaking are things I feel like I am fairly good at... given the fact that I come from a family which I would classify as very indoorsy
I love plants. They remind me of the simplicity of life when I am lost in the complexities of the human societal constructs that can sometimes be overwhelming. I used to work at a garden center and I really like lanscape design and vegetable gardening.
Basically just living life to its full potential and unconditional kindness are important values to me. "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing"
