Hey! I’m Lexus — a Canadian teacher currently living abroad and always looking for my next adventure 🌍
I spend most of my time working in international schools (right now in the Middle East, soon heading to Bangkok), so traveling has become a huge part of my life. I love meeting people from different cultures, hearing their stories, and getting a real feel for a place beyond the tourist spots.
I’m a pretty active person — you’ll usually find me running, training for races, or exploring outdoors. I’m also big into coffee, good food, and meaningful conversations (the kind that start casual and somehow turn into life stories at 1am).
I travel with my boyfriend as he is also a teacher, but I also really enjoy solo travel because it pushes me to connect with new people — which is why I love the idea of Couchsurfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Right now, I’m in a bit of an unexpected situation due to the ongoing tensions and conflict in the Middle East, where I’ve been teaching.

With everything escalating recently, our school has shifted to online learning. While we’re doing our best to keep things normal for students, it’s been challenging — especially with unstable WiFi, changing routines, and the general uncertainty of the situation.

Because of that, I decided to spend some time in Europe where I can:

teach my classes more reliably online
have stable internet and a consistent environment
and also take a bit of space from everything happening

Couchsurfing felt like the perfect fit — not just for a place to stay, but for the chance to connect with people during a time that’s been pretty surreal.

I’m still working during the day (teaching online), so I’ll need a quiet space and solid WiFi for a few hours, but outside of that I’d love to explore, hang out, and experience local life.

Interests

I’ll be working part of the day (time zones depending), but I’m very flexible outside of that
Reliable WiFi is important for me — that’s honestly the biggest thing
I’m super respectful of space and routines, especially since I’ll be balancing work + travel
I really value the human connection part of Couchsurfing, especially right now

As a teacher, I’m happy to help with English if that’s something you’re interested in. Alex and I both love cooking and would be more than happy to share a meal or cook together. We also really enjoy hiking and are always up for exploring or trying new experiences.
