Chi sono
I have a project in the Sacred Valley, it is about the renovation and beautification of a colonial state:

And this is the link of my profile on a volunteer page:

But I also like the philosophy of couchsurfing, so everyone is welcome.
My name is Luis, I am twenty-five years old and three years ago I moved to the Sacred Valley of the Incas to start this new and wonderful adventure: to save from the ruins a very big and very old family property that was abandoned for more than twelve years ( since the death of my grandfather) and turn it, with the help of my youth, strength and talent, into an incredibly beautiful place, into a little paradise on Earth.
My mother died in my adolescence, leaving me a good amount of money that I had to use to live and pay all my university studies. However, my dream was and still is to become a great writer, one of those writers who have adventurous lives and who have many interesting things to tell. So at the age of 19 I decided to leave the university to pursue my dream, I decided to risk using my money to live in complete freedom, without having the need to work. That was my life until my father inherited this property in which I now live and work.
Save this house from the ruins means a lot to me, because I have a very large and very beautiful family, and I have always felt that I owe a debt to all of them, because despite my madness, excesses and adolescent rebelliousness, all of them have always trusted me, they have had me as the "spoiled child" of the family and they have given me more love than I have deserved ... so for me this is the perfect way to give back so much love and trust. Also, this house was always in my heart, it is a place where I was very happy during my childhood and from which I keep many beautiful memories.
When I arrived here, things were a little hard: the house was full of cobwebs and rats that invaded it at night. The roof was very old and every time it rained the water filtered in several places of the house, filling it with wáter. The property didnt have a modern water system and often had to go down to the river to bring buckets of wáter. There was no bathroom or a drainage system, so I was forced to use a "dry bath" and to take showers with cold water from the river. There was not a good electrical system either, so there were not few nights when I had to read, eat or walk around the house using the light of a candle. The walls and floors of the house were very dirty and mistreated, because during the time that the house was abandoned the people of the village came to eat the fruits of the trees of the garden and brought with them their cows and sheep, which left sleep inside the house on rainy days. The wooden doors, windows and balconies were badly damaged by neglect, rain and insects In addition, I worked and lived alone (during the first months I didnt receive volunteers because I had no idea about Workaway), well, I did not live alone, my dogs were always with me.
In short, I found these and many other difficulties, difficulties that I appreciate having found in my way, because, if things had been easy, where would my merit? What could I be proud of now? Also, all these difficulties have made me a better man, they have made me stronger physically, mentally and spiritually.
What you can find today is a really comfortable, clean and beautiful place. Maybe i dont need to describe you the work done in these three years, because in the pictures of my profile you can see it. However, the work is not finished and there are still many more things that I want to do. Above all, there is a project that I have been postponing for lack of time and money, a project that for me is even more important than the restoration of the house: build a shelter for abandoned dogs. I can not keep seeing so many dogs suffering in the streets, it's something that breaks my heart continuously and frustrates me not being able to do anything, not having enough money to be able to save all of them.
One of the great loves of my life are dogs and before I die I want to save as many dogs as possible from the streets.
I hate to say it, but in this part of the world it seems that people believe that dogs have no feelings. They abandon them in the streets, beat them, see them wandering the streets, dying of hunger, cold and loneliness, and nobody does anything to help them. Have you ever seen a female dog running scared, being harassed and raped again and again by a pack of dogs? Have you ever seen her eyes? Have you ever seen a female dog have babies in the middle of a cold and hard street, and then have to go desperately to look for food in the trash?
Now that things are going better with my project, my priority is to collect female dogs. I need volunteers who can help me to create a website to get abroad people who can adopt them. There are two ways to do it, one is taking them to live in their countries and the other is sending me a monthly amount of money for their food. I have seen that there are some organizations that do that and that they send monthly photos to the adoptive parents of each saved dog. And, on the other hand, it seems to me that the amount of monthly money that they ask for is too much… For me it would be enough with 10 dollars per month! With that I would take care of their daily food and buy them from time to time vaccines and shampoos. I do not intend to earn a single cent saving dogs, that's not my end. I have the space to have them, I have materials to build them houses, and i have volunteers to bathe them, take them out for a walk in the forest and give them love (and I'm also thinking about using volunteers to go out in the streets, go to houses and restaurants to ask for food scraps that can help me feed the dogs), but I do not have money to support a big number of dogs... And, of course, it would be wonderful if there are volunteers who want to go out with me to save some dog from the streets and adopt it!
