ABOUT ME

I am a Canadian girl; through and through. I'm always cold - even in + 20 and I have a passionate yet misunderstood love for maple syrop.

I've worked in the construction industry for the past 4 years and my dad is a newfie so I've got a tendency to tell dirty jokes and cuss like a pirate but other then that, I do my best to be a lady.

My tastes are not expensive so that I can enjoy the finer things in life: fishing, hiking, kayaking, swimming, quadding, camping, you name it! Anything that involves being outdoors, enjoying nature!

PHILOSOPHY

"MAKE YOURSELF UNCOMFORTABLE"

Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone means pushing yourself forward; growing as a person.

2 years ago, a boss of mine, a very intelligent man, told me to never let myself get too comfortable; to always be wondering what else I can do, how much further I can go, how can I improve my life and myself.

I've carried this philosophy with me and it has improved my life, and my view on life 10 fold. In the past 2 years, I've enrolled in several college courses, backpacked across Europe in a tent and have been traveling through Australia since October.

I am the most uncomfortable I've ever been, and loving EVERY minute of it. :D

I've only surfed one time so far but want to do more! Once I have a better understanding of this "community" I will hopefully be able to make a substantial contribution to its ongoing success.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I broke my back in August of 2006 and, through rehab and a whole lot of hard work - I have recovered completely and fully, and did a backpacking trip through Europe this summer.

Teach, Learn, Share

In Alberta, Halloween is widely celebrated and 9 out of 10 houses give out candy. Christmas has snow and everyone in the city goes to Candy Cane Lane - a whole block of houses that go all out with their Christmas Decorations. In Canada (as opposed to Australia) lollies are candies, tissues are kleenex, undies are panties and we don't say this avo or monday week.
