Hi there,
my name is Lia Melina and I am a 22 year old girl originally from Stuttgart, south germany. I was born and raised in a town known for it's wine. Thus I am used to work outside and love being in the nature ;)
I am the littlest in the family and as both of my sisters went abroad after they've graduated I did so too.
My prom was in July 2014 and I flew to New Zealand just four days later. One year of aupairing, traveling and a lot of fun all over this beautiful country of kiwis and Maori culture. Just before I headed back home I used my free time and visited Australia and Fiji as well! Absolutely awesome!
I applied for my apprenticeship during my stay down under and so I was able to start as student midwife in Ulm, south germany in October 2015. After three years of studying, attending around 140 births and working in shift work I am ready to pack my backpack again and explore new parts of the world :)
At the moment I am in the middle of my final exams and love to use my breaks for planning my three month trip to Hawaii in October. Maybe including meeting you and your home ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As all of my friends are busy working or still studying I decided to travel on my own and would love to have contact to complete new people. Especially meeting locals is something I am looking forward to :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess my whole year abroad was just amazing! Swimming with wild dolphins, snorkeling in the great barrier reef, holding my hostbaby for the first time two hours after his birth! I really was lucky with a lot and I love to exchange with other people about my experiences or theirs :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

You can be sure that I am an open-minded and easy going person. Friends describe me as organized, always happy and adventurous :)
