About Me

I'm passionate about languages, literature, foreign culture and anything that comes close to artistic creation.
I love adventure, meeting new people and sharing with them. I'm interested in anything, maybe too many things. I speak a lot, probably too much.
My life is based upon sharing and meeting, and upon any trip I can take: they always are a source of inspiration in my creations.

However, due to chronic illnesses and a very demanding job, I am very easily fatigued. Please bear with me if conversations seem straining for me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's all about meeting new people and sharing experiences! I have come to travelling quite late in my life - or so I think - and now I would like to go everywhere, meet everyone, see the world through different eyes!

Interests

Many interests, actually, mostly centered on arts and culture, but not only.

I love reading, writing and drawing. I love listening to music (I used to play it too, but sadly this is behind me). I love linguistics and psychology. I love videogames, or games in general.

I love meeting people and organising meet-ups, too. I am a very social animal. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to any kind of music. Really... any kind at all. That's quite confusing for people around me. Still, if I had to give a few pieces that are really emblematic for me, I'd say "Gnossienne 1" by Erik Satie, "Gravenimage" by Sonata Arctica, "Secret Land" by Sandra, "Wake Up" by Rage Against The Machine...
Lately I've found myself extremely prolific when writing while listening "Das Omen" by E-Nomine, too.

Movies ? I'm not much into movies, sadly -except for Back to the Future, because 80s time travelling can only mean awesomeness. (I used to be in love with Marty McFly when I was a kid).
Yet I absolutely adored the short movie "Boudin'" by Pixar - speaking of which, I actually love the other works by Pixar. One of their latest, "Inside Out", really got me. I'd love to turn it into a role playing game. Think of it. It would be awesome.

As for books, there are so many. I'm into short stories, and I love Ray Bradbury for that. I'm into science-fiction, and fantasy. It's hard for me to decide which books I could mention here so here are a few authors... Frank Herbert, JRR Tolkien, JK Rowling, Terry Pratchett, ... nothing too original actually.
But I believe that what I love most is nonsense. Absurdity. All hail Douglas Adams, Lewis Carroll and the Monty Python!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Depends on the meaning you give to "amazing" I guess... There's be a few I can think of:

- Writing a novel of 50 000 words in 30 days.
I try to do that every year, in November. Sometimes, I even succeed.

- Sending over 90 postcards and writing 15 short stories during my latest 15-days trip. Made me understand that I wrote better when traveling!

- Staying alive after 12 hours non stop of concerts at a metal festival. You wouldn't believe how enduring your body can be when there's good music and great people around you.

- Surviving depression. Eh, it's the little things...

Teach, Learn, Share

"Teach, Learn, Share" ? Well, I believe these three verbs are the basics of my life; I've built myself upon them. Money makes no sense to me, I only get richer with shared experience and that's why I am here now!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, mostly, I guess. My passions, hopefully. Some recipes too! It's always good to share recipes - sometimes cultural exchange is all about food.
I'd be glad to help for anything, too. I'm here to learn, after all.
I also love to send postcards to my hosts from whichever place I may go to after staying on their couch! Postcards really are a great part of my life.
