Hey! I'm currently studying Japanese at TUFS university in Tokyo. I'm keen to meet some people and hang out. I grew up in Wellington, New Zealand and have spent time travelling around Europe and Asia. I love to read books and I also play the guitar. I love the food and drink culture of Japan and am excited to go out and eat/drink lots here!

I've had some great experiences being hosted by people and have also hosted some people myself at my home in New Zealand and had a really positive experience. I enjoyed showing surfers around and it's cool because it's a good way to see your own city when you're with travelers.

Intereses

Love to read both fiction and non-fiction, I play guitar and listen to lots of different kinds of music. I'm starting to get into running. I like films and have been watching some anime too as it helps with the ol' Japanese. I like to eat and drink out, have really been enjoying the traditional pubs here in Tokyo (izakaya).

Have been listening to a lot of Jazz lately but like most genres, rock, hip hop, electronic etc.

I like stories by Hemingway and have been reading some philosophy too recently.

Wes Anderson and Stanley Kubrick films are great. Either Space Odyssey or The Good the Bad and the Ugly is probably my favorite film of all time.

Backpacking across Europe for six months when I was 18, urban camping around Tokyo in 2016, climbing Mt Fuji, going kiwi-spotting on Stuart Island in New Zealand.

keen to do a language swap, I studied linguistics (言語学）at university and so can explain difficult grammar pretty well. I can teach English in exchange for Japanese.
