About Me
Fully vaxxed!
Note: My home is not near NYC. Bennington is 3.5 hours without traffic. I pop up on a lot of "there's no one near here, search nearby" results. I would love to host you, but it won't be possible if NYC is where you're trying to get!
Avid cook, reader, board gamer, hiker, artist, amateur naturalist. I love to meet new people, especially those who are kind enough to open their homes to travelers.
I have carpentry experience and am generally handy, so if your home is one of those "we got a roof and a tap, come help out" type of projects I'm there!! That said, I work 50-hour weeks so when I travel I'm certainly looking to get in a fair amount of chilling out, winding up/down, going out and generally bein' off work.
THRU-HIKERS: I am here to help however I can! I work from home, so I can offer rides to and from the trailhead during the day (might take me a bit if I'm in a meeting). I can also offer a place to sleep, shower, and recoup. **I have a washer and dryer in my house so you will save that $$$$.** I live within a walkable half mile of the center of town with some good bars, restaurants, and shops.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Tight budget! And I like meeting kind and interested people.
Interests
I always keep a deck of cards on hand, and if I end up hosting you let's play a game! I have a small collection of board games including Cribbage, Scrabble, Wingspan, Dixit, Pandemic, CaH, Titan, Codenames, and Dominion. Very big DnD nerd.
Various corners of my home are filled with art supplies. Always looking to meet artists, makers, gamers, musicians of all kinds.

Music, Movies, and Books
I alternate between a piece of fiction and a piece of nonfiction, so I'm always looking for recommendations on both. Mybookshelf is open to you while you're here, lots to poke through. Old favorites include Jitterbug Perfume, Aubrey/Maturin series, Ursula Le Guin, Alan Furst, but I also have a large collection of coffee table books and a small collection of children's books.
.
Always looking to trade music recommendations! I bounce between about 45 different playlists, the list is too big. I'm no snob either, meaning I won't make you feel bad about what you listen to and please do not do that to me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know two rounds (White Sands/Grey Sands, Oba Se Je). Always looking to pick up more.
Let's share recipes, stories, scars, drinks. I particularly enjoy drawing on the same piece of paper with someone else (in ink!) Wonderful things can happen!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A hot cooked meal, stories, small sketches.
