About Me

I was born in New Zealand but have been living in Sydney for the last 15 years. I like to think im pretty funny but most people are usually not as funny as they think they are so realistly I'm probably fair to mildly funny.

I love travelling and discovering new experiences, in fact it is only by focusing on my next adventure that I manage to make it through the week at my boring day job. (I know I should work on finding a job that I love doing too...if anyone has a rich relative who wants to sponser me to travel the world let me know)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like hostels, sure sharing a room with 10 other smelly strangers is awesome but the thing I like most is the opportunity to meet fellow travellers from all over the world. I also like meeting and getting to know the locals whenever I am in a new city and get to experience the authentic side of a city that they dont write about in lonely planet. Now if only someone would create some platform thats allows you to connect and stay with likeminded people from all over the wolrd...

Interests

Anything to do with the outdoors and the ocean- hiking, swimming, kayaking, bike riding, sailing. I love to eat and to eat you have to cook, and since I cant afford to constantly be buying herbs (or limes!!!) I have also become a pretty keen urban gardener. I like listening to live music and experiencing each cities unique nighlight and music scene.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sailed on the tall ship Young Endeavour from Sydney, Australia to Rio De Janerio, Brazil. It was the experience of a lifetime, I spent 56 days at sea, on a vessel 44m long with 36 other people most of whom had never met before.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can't think of all that much...If you want to practice English it is my first language and I can teach you all about Australian slang and sayings. I recently learnt how to juggle 2 balls, still working on getting the 3rd one up but willing to share what I have learnt so far.

I love to learn other languages even if I will never achieve fluency so anything you can teach is appreciated. I also like to learn about local cultures and customs and any tips I can pick up for the kitchen.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am an okay cook however specialise in breakfasts, people have told me on many occasions that my scrambled eggs are the best they have ever had.

I also carry a game called jungle speed with me everywhere, its basically snap on steroids...its amazing.
