About Me

Hey there! My name is Liam, I'm a musician, been playing for about 13 years now and I'm currently working on an album. Looking to travel soon and I can tell this is a very beautiful way to get the most out of the area you're staying in. As a guest l'd happily cook, clean, drive, share stories, and teach/play you lots of music. Or if you'd like to jam that's even better :)

Feel free to chat me up anytime! l'm easy to get ahold of.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One thing l love about Couchsurfing is that it's relative to an older and freer style of travelling. l hate how travel has become this isolated and planned experience you pay a fortune for just to be kept in a small area sitting around losing money, only to just buy a ticket home and then sit around doing the same thing there. It's become so shallow and materialistic. With couch surfing you can stay with people who live and breath the area and want to show you destinations the locals find homey and well representing of the local experience. It's a far more beautiful thing.

Interests

My main interests are Music and Food. But l'm also quite interested in things l don't know anything about, if there's something you can teach me that l don't know; l'm all ears!

Music, Movies, and Books

Musically, l can enjoy any genre so long as it's done well. l like and Musician/band that has it's own sound and is clearly passionate about what they play. l could say the exact same thing about movies too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When l was 6 years old my mother, brother, and I all travelled to Thailand and Cambodia to visit my father who was living in Phnom Penh at the time. It just so happened that we had 2 foster children from Cambodia through Plan Canada so we had the rare opportunity of visiting them. What an experience l tell ya. The whole village came out to meet us and made us these flower necklaces and showed us their garden and homes. None of them had even seen (or heard of for that matter) a white person before, it was as if we were aliens from another planet. But even so they treated us so so so well, friendliest people in the world, and they have hardly anything. Hardly anything in a materialistic sense anyway.

l think meeting those families fundamentally changed how l think about a lot of things.

Teach, Learn, Share

l used to teach at a music centre in Windsor, NS. So if you were interested in exchanging accommodation for music lessons l would be really into that. Also, like l mentioned above. l'm always open to learning about something l don't know, so if you wanted to teach anything to me, l'd be very excited to hear :)
