About Me
Hi, our names are Liam and Juhi. We both just graduated from university in the US and are now traveling across Europe for 6 months. We’re most excited to make lasting friendships with new people and learn about new cultures.
Some specific info about each of us:
Liam: I’m a musician from North Carolina in the US. After finishing my degree in Jazz Saxophone a year and a half ago, I hit the ground running with performing, teaching, and recording, but mostly doing a lot of boring work. I later realized there’s more I want to see and do before I get sucked into constantly working. I want to make connections with people in new places and see other ways of life so I can expand my possibilities for the future. But also more simply, I would just love to make more friends and be in new and exciting places.
I grew up in a multicultural household with my mother from the former Yugoslavia and my American father, so I developed an affinity for languages and cultures, geography, and history. I love food, coffee, the great outdoors, art, and of course music. I’d love to learn from you whatever you have to teach me, and maybe teach you something in return!
--------------------
Juhi: I’m deeply passionate about community building, activism, and politics and spent my time in university studying that. In the past year, I worked on a small sustainable farm rooted in Indigenous traditions, and that experience was honestly life-changing. I learned a lot about how to live within nature and respect the land, which isn't common enough in US culture.
I also get lots of joy doing creative things. I've been dancing my whole life and like to sing, draw, and write. Otherwise, I love to spend time outdoors, bike, and cook.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We’re excited to meet locals and travelers from around the world and learn about people's lives. There's always something to learn from everybody.
Since we just joined this Couchsurfing community, we haven't had the chance to host people yet but are excited to once we are back in our hometown.

Music, Movies, and Books
Liam: I mostly listen to jazz, indie, funky stuff, and folk music. I like reading a variety of literature and love movies like Srek, O Brother Where Art Thou, and Spirited Away.
Juhi: I like listening to to indie, soul, hip hop, jazz, Bollywood music, and folk music styles from around the world. I'm usually reading nonfiction on politics and history and am currently reading the Autobiography of Malcolm X. Favorite movie is probably Roma or Moonlight.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Liam: One thing I have done recently that I am proud of is fully restoring a saxophone from 1926. It was my first big instrument repair project and it took me several months to complete. When I started, it was not working at all and had not been touched in several decades. Now, it is almost like new and sounds wonderful.
Juhi: Acrobatic paragliding in the Rhodope Mountains in Bulgaria
Teach, Learn, Share
Liam: Part of my career is being a music teacher. I teach people how to trust each other and work as a team, discipline through technical skills, and hot to let go and follow your inner senses. I am a curious person and I am eager to learn whatever skills, arts, etc from anyone who has something useful to share with me. I am grateful for any opportunity to broaden my worldview and skillset.
Juhi: I'm Indian American and would love to share my culture with you and learn about yours. I'd especially like to learn about the language, food, and politics of the place you are from. I've taken a couple visual art classes in drawing and pottery and want to learn more about art and talk about it with others.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Liam: I can help you learn the languages I speak (English, Croatian, German), help you learn how to play a musical instrument or help you improve, and teach you about jazz music and improvisation.
Juhi: I'd love to have meaningful conversations on just about anything :)
