About Me

ABOUT ME

I amble about, meet new people and have a bit of a laugh - and outside of work I do pretty much the same.

PHILOSOPHY

Led Zeppelin. And Bar Roulette, aka bumping into strangers in the pub and seeing where you end up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm always looking to bump into people with interesting stories and amusing tales to tell, especially when out on my travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not too much so far, but I'm easy-going and I've had a few adventures here and there, whether I'm on holiday or not. I have lived with people from Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Singapore and Uganda, as well as a bunch of Irish and people from all over the UK, so that probably counts for something.

Interests

In no particular order, ancient history, beer, whisky, food, music (prog and heavy metal especially), wandering about for ages.

Books: 1984; Animal Farm; Crime and Punishment; Gulliver's Travels; The Hobbit; Homer; The Lord of the Rings; The Master and Margarita; Adrian Mole; The Old Devils; anything by Alexander Pope; The Twelve Caesars (technically non-fiction, but Suetonius was a little creative with the facts) .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I accidentally went on holiday with a poker-playing millionaire, somehow wrote off a car in a car park, let a woman called Crazy Bus Lady stay at my house, went on a week-long cricket tour with two people I met down a pub (even though I can't play cricket), and became Welsh champion toe wrestler (sort of).

Teach, Learn, Share

Always happy to swap tips on beer and grub, plus I've lived in lots of different places in the UK so I can give some good advice on where to go and how to get there.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whisky, usually, as well as a few interesting stories.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Denmark, England, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Northern Ireland, Poland, Scotland, Spain, Thailand, United States, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In

England, New Zealand, Wales
