About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To continue traveling to learn. I am passionate about communication; through music, art, and language. Film making is an outlet that I have just begun to explore. "Sing in your own vibrations". I think the story teller has always played an important role in human history; even more so in our globalizing and interconnected modern world.
ABOUT ME
My name is Liam and I'm here to meet you.
I have travelled from Canada - Europe - Africa - Asia and back again for the last four years looking to make connections and merit in this world. I refuse to succumb to fearing human nature. My experiential education has taught me that people are, in their nature, good. Violence generating trauma through a consumption cultural crisis is another story, but we overcome when connected and empowered together.
I have decided to embrace stories because I feel they are a great way to relate & communicate the important lessons learned from exchanging perspectives and inner wisdom. Lessons about kindness, communion, empathy, and compassion that can emerge on the street when we hitch hiking, or close to the heart in our homes, sharing meals, laughs, smiles, and a story or two.
Thank you people. For without you, I would not find my way.
PHILOSOPHY
One World, One Family : vasudhaiva kutumbakam -Sanskrit
Make Merit -Buddhism
Nothing in Nature grows alone -says me
Remembering that you will die one day is the best way to free yourself from the trap of thing you have something to lose. - Jobs
THE WORD: It is a powerful instrument; it is the means by which we convey our feelings to one another. Our method of influencing other people...
Words can do unspeakable good, and cause terrible wounds.
Originally the word was magic, a magical act; and it has retained much of it's ancient power - Freud
Luck is the mechanism which nature uses to encourage itself to explore the novel and venture into the unknown.
- says me.. inspired by Terence Mckenna
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I often end up in new places. While wandering, I like to spark a connection with new people, because, for me, that is the whole point of going to a new place: new people.
People are an integral part of their environment, and you can't get a full picture without them.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All positive. The generosity of some people has really inspired me. I know now that we can authentically experience our entire species as one family.. Welcome brothers & sisters to the school of life.
I no longer have the 'open house' community home in Montpellier, so I will keep my welcome sign with me on the street every where I go :)
Interests
I love to play. Music, games, anything.
Dancing has also become a passion and is my favorite form of expression, other than sexpression :)
When traveling I like to meet new people, ask questions and learn.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to a bushman village with two amazing friends (brother and sister) in the heart of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in Botswana. We were investigating the effect diamond mining had on the indigenous hunter gatherings (San People) who had been evicted from their native land in which they lived since humans came out of the trees and into the grasslands.
This journey has inspired activism in me and the will to fight for positive change, as a shift is so desperately needed in the way we treat one and other and the planet.
Teach, Learn, Share
I lived in Montpellier (France) for some years with goals of learning French and creating culture collectively. That project is still in progress. It started as an English social community call English Stuff Montpellier - evolved into Communicate Peace :FB:
We did creative and artistic workshops for adults and kids to promote discourse in realms of politics, culture, language, ect. With kids we did mostly cooking, crafts, and music.
For now it's more of a nomadic peace building movement with the mission of creating culture that connects and empowers us to rise up together
