About Me

My Mission in life I suppose, Is to be mindful and present in the moment as often as possible, to connect with others and touch their lives in a positive way, leaving them feeling a little more sparkly and positive than they were before. I want to explore as much as I can of the world, and learn as much as I can about it, all it's history, all it's cultures and peoples, what it's made of, why it's here and the way it is, and where it might be going!

ABOUT ME

Maybe i'll try and do this objectively... Most of my friends agree, that i'm a very nice, kind and open minded and lovely person. I'm a deep thinker, but an over analyzer. I'm pretty chilled out, but i drink too often. (socially, not by myself!) The nicest things my friends have ever said to me are that i'm "the most forgiving person they know, they "never feel judged around me" they "like the person they are around me more than anyone else." Which are all lovely things, but they came from amazingly lovely people too! Some people get frustrated with ideas i may entertain, that sound far fetched, but I deem possible, such as certain conspiracy theories, whether reality is mind dependent or not. And a number of other things that at first glance seem silly, but upon further inspection, are not so. That'll do.

PHILOSOPHY

To spread love, plant seeds of happiness and good vibes into this place, for that little time that I'm here. To feed the White Wolf.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing because I want to travel the world, and do it in a more interesting way than just staying in Hostels. I think it's an amazing way of meeting awesome, kind hearted and interesting people!

Interests

I love documentaries, am very interested in philosophy, science, spirituality, politics and history. I love learning about the world around me and sharing ideas with other people who love conversation. I have a deep interest in Philosophy of mind, consciousness and ethics. I like to learn about contemporary physics, and about all the religions and compare them. I work for an environmental organization called the wilderness society and campaign to save and preserve Australia's old growth forests and wildernesses, aswell as mitigation of Climate Change. I enjoy going out to bars with my friends and drinking away happily while talking about the looming singularity, conspiracy theories, current events, Deep philosophical questions, ethical dilemmas , movies and music. Etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies like Samsara, Waking life, The Matrix, Her, Ex Machina, Forrest Gump, and Juno. Anything that makes you think, and feel. My favorite bands are Radiohead, The Books, Alt j, Angus and Julia stone, Xavier Rudd, Death cab for cutie, Iron and wine, Bombay bicycle Club, Tallest man on Earth, Bon Iver and I'm partial to Coldplay. Take it. Again, anything that inspires me, relaxes me, makes me think and makes me feel. My favourite books are by Thich Nhat Hanh, Aldous Huxley, Erwin Schrodinger, Stephen Hawking, Werner Heisenberg, Alan Watts, Jack Kerovac, George Orwell, The Dalai Llama, I really love the books, The Tao of Physics, Quantum and the Lotus, No death no fear, the pig of happiness, the celestine prophecy, 1984, Dharma Bums, The universe in a single atom, a brief history of time, the grand design, What is life? etc. I have just now come to the realization that all my favorite books are by male authors and this embarrasses and disappoints me... I'm going to have to pick up something by Ayn Rand or Simone de Beauvoir...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

More an amazing thing that has happened to me... But this one time, I had my bag and work Ipad stolen from me on the job for the Wilderness Society, so I promptly called my wonderful boss and friend Tria to help me track it, I then embarked on an epic hour long chase on the phone, matrix-style through the heart of the Melbourne CBD, onto a tram all the way to Richmond to the culprits apartment, where I found 2 middle aged women moving a bookshelf. After offering them a hand, In an awkward and hilarious turn of events, It was revealed half way up the stairs that it was them who stole it. We then went on to work together to try and fish the ipad out from behind a wall where "she who shall remain unnamed" stashed it. The bag was dumped in the city, but the kind thief was able to direct me accurately to its whereabouts. We had a hug and parted ways. Happy ending. (except for the loss of my journal which she miraculously pawned to a friend within that hour.) We're still in contact though, she's becoming a social worker.
