About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Looking to explore different cultures, continue to study languages, read a lot of books, write some stories and do it all without much of a budget.

ABOUT ME

I've grown up in a lot of places in my life and traveling is naturally in blood. I was born in London, Ontario, moved to Victoria, British Columbia when I was like five or something, then my family and I moved to Santa Monica, California and lived there for a little while. After we got our green cards (woo woo) we moved to Seattle, Washington. That's where my family lives now. I to university in the mid-west for a little while, but it was too flat so I moved to the hilly neighborhoods of San Francisco. Now I live Toulouse, France and it's crackin. I teach English here, meet people, and try to perfect my french. It's a good time.

PHILOSOPHY

I love the idea of open sourced anything and how people are developing new ways to connect with one another. Bit-coin is super interesting for that reason and naturally, of course, CoachSurfing. The sheer power of connection that is possible with the internet in a completely gratuitous fashion is staggering and I love it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've met a handful of travelers in my life who have used this website since it's inception and have done my fair share of couch surfing, but not formally through this website.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No formal Couchsurfing experience--but I am super good at falling asleep at bus stops, on floors, in attics and I have traveled often. I'm not sure if it counts, but my family has hosted students from literally all over the world throughout my life, so that's been great in general. To put it simply I have a lot of couches to sleep on in Japan and South Korea.

Interests

I love reading, it's an absolute obsession of mine. Learning in general is a passion for me and as Godard has said, "travel expands the mind". All of my interests sort of revolve around exploring the world, getting a better understanding of my place in it, and sharing my experiences with the people that I meet.

One of my favorite things is when you meet someone who is in the exact same thought pattern as you (i.e. asking similar questions about the world, shares interests, etc...) and then they just share their world with you. That's sort of happening to me here in Toulouse and that's sort of how I know I'm in the right spot. I love following a good conversation and a good walk.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm all about learning these things and sharing these things with everyone that I know.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a bit of a taste for fine cheap french wines and I love me some dark chocolates. I could also bring you a poster or a book or even recite a poem! I love cooking too, so that's always an option.
