About Me

Hello! I'm a 26 year old movement artist living and working in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I live a very active lifestyle. I love exploring new hikes, climbs, and places to swim! I'm a lover of wine, board games, cards, and onesies. I really enjoy cooking (especially for others)! I specialize in vegetarian and vegan cuisine, and find inspiration from Indian, Thai and Italian flavors.

Also, ANIMALS! I think they are great!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet locals and learn what they love about where they live! Discreet treasures in nature, quiet coffee shops, hidden paths in cities, underground scene--all excite me!

Music, Movies, and Books

I really appreciate all music... it mostly depends where I am, whom I with, and what activity I'm doing.
Driving--Jazz music
cooking--classical
running--R&B, hip hop
Exploring--psychedelic funk
(Board) games--epic soundtracks!

I don't watch a lot of Movies or TV, but I enjoy anything that makes me think/question or is a spectacle, candy for the eyes.

I'm a big fan of memoirs and self-help books--anything that forces you to look at your life from a new perspective. One book I really enjoyed was "Sapiens: a Brief History of Humankind."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2017 I went to India for a month and a half to study Ashtanga and Hatha yoga and earned my yoga teacher certificate. Something about being in the mountains in North India (right by Nepal) gave me so much LIFE. I felt so in tune with the land and animals there. I would swim in Mother Ganga everyday and go for long walks alone in the forest barefoot. I saw many animals, including monkeys, cows, dogs, pigs, and even a viper... One late night while walking home on a narrow foot path up the hill, I saw a large 6ft snake slithering down towards me. I had no intention to turn around; it was a long way and I was almost home. I was tired and this was my only path. So, I simply stepped to one side of the path to wait for the snake to pass. I was completely still as the snake approached, and unfazed... and then, just as the snake was beside me, it turned itself abruptly to me. we were now less than a foot apart. I remained motionless, my bare feet to the earth, head reaching high to the sky. I would not move for because I feared it would strike! Only breathe. My breath was alive and active, slow and steady, powerful and calm. The snake's head disappeared behind my foot. I could see from the corner of my eye the snake's tail beginning to coil, tighter and tighter and tighter. I refused to move. I would not react, just breathe. Simply breathe. And then I felt a cold wet kiss on the top of my left foot. it was the snake's head. Now I could make out its distinctive diamond head shape and checkered body. this was a deadly snake... Breathe. Just breathe. The snake lifts its head to peer around. In my mind, I pray that it doesn't ascend my leg. It lowers back down and proceeds to slither across to my right foot and then off into the bush, dragging its entire self across both my bare feet. Huge sigh of relief and immense gratitude. All was well.
