Overview
About Me
Nothing inspires and drives me more in life than travelling. I wake up each day contemplating my next international adventure; whether it be that morning or in a year's time. Some would claim I am slightly obsessed by this almost singular passion, distracting me from potentially more "productive" pursuits. But I firmly believe that travelling in the greatest form of education one can experience: and since I intend to keep learning throughout my life, I should never cease to travel!
I am a civil engineering student currently living in Stockholm for one semester. I'm planning to see as much of Sweden as Northern Europe in the spare time I'll have from classes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To experience a form of accommodation I regrettably did not engage in on my previous 12 month trip. I have learnt retrospectively that staying at hostels is an excellent method of meeting other foreign travelers, but not locals. That's the core reason why I'm interested in couchsurfing.
Interests
A few years ago I would have said that travel is certainly my primary interest, but perhaps my obsession for food has superseded it. I will often plan my itineraries for the day specifically around where and what I intend to eat! Also interested in politics, sport (Australian rules football, tennis, cricket), architecture, history, cinema etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
George RR Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" (Game of Thrones) is certainly my favourite story of any genre or medium.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Canoeing on the Zambezi River in Zambia for 3 days was an epic adventure, especially since our group paddled passed pods of hippos roughly every hour of the journey. On the first day, "Mad Max of the Zambezi" capsized one of the canoes with two elderly Brits onboard. They were thrown into the hippo and croc infested waters, but fortunately survived the ordeal. The trip felt properly "off the beaten path" as there were no traces of civilisation in sight; just hippos, elephants and the murky waters of the Zambezi.
