About Me

**** dont know why CS do not let me change the location... but I have got back to China since Dec 2016... right now in *Guangzhou*. willing to host when I'm home and have more free time to show you around :-)

I'm from Xi'an, a historical city in China and I had living in Boston for more than six years from 2010 to 2016.
I left my job in Sep 2016 and traveled along the US west coast from north to south all by myself (Seattle to LA).

I graduated from a liberal arts college in MA with two majors in Math and Music, two minors in Theatre Design and Economics.

I'm an adventure-seeker, not only on my way traveling but also even in everyday life~!

I love hiking, climbing and bicycling as well as other outdoor activities.
I love music, dancing and painting.

I'm an open-minded, laid-back person and alway passionate about new things, always smile.

I love exploring new places as well as meeting people with all kinds of different experiences.

I'm a non-smoker, animal lover, and early riser.

PHILOSOPHY
-Everything is about balance. Yin&Yang
-Be simple~ and at the same time, enjoy life~!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think one core value of Couchsurfing is to get to know new people with sharing interests and with various background to open up a bigeer world, widen up our knowledge. Another is to have cool locals to help us find those hidden gems of a city, places tourists don't usually go.
All what we get from it is communication. To communicate with people, places, problems and to experience something we couldn't find in our daily life. To live the locals' lives when you travel.
If you just want to find a place to stay, Airbnb or most hostels are much more comfortable to choose. You can simply just book one and don't need to bother about arranging time to check in. And it won't cost thst much at all.
And based on my experiences with Airbnb, the hosts usually care more about your reviews instead of your actual experiences and they are probably not that interested in sharing about their lives, the local culture and fun around. On the contrast, almost every host I met on Couchsurfing are very enthusiastic about the city, the community they live in and are very happy to talk with me.

And I myself I hosted two architects from Paris when I lived in Boston. I showed them great architectures around.
To me I think Airbnb is about places to stay, is hotels with variations, but Couchsurfing is about experiences, about sharing, about opening up our view of the world. It' never abput free accomadation.

After got back to China, I used CS for several times and the overall experience is kinda different, especislly with some Chinese girls... I was totally shocked and sad to see negative comment from a host, with no notification in advance... But I think it's a good thing that CS show every comment and give you no chance to delete one. Even it gave, I would do becase this is just the real world, with both good and bad, with ppl like you and those do.not like you. We just need to be more objective to learn more from more perspectives, before taking any stand.
