Overview
About Me
Hello, I'm Lisbeth, and I'm thrilled to be part of the Couchsurfing community. I am an avid traveler, fearless explorer, and passionate veterinarian.
Originally from Colombia, I spent several years living in Cambodia, working with mine and explosives-sniffing dogs and rats for organizations specializing in demining projects in post-conflict areas. This unique background is both aligned with and the source of my insatiable curiosity about the world.
As a Couchsurfing guest, I'm enthusiastic to meet new people who graciously open their homes to fellow travelers like myself. I'm eager to share stories, forge connections, and create lasting memories.
Whether you're in search of a travel companion or simply looking to connect with a fellow adventurer, please feel free to reach out.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Traveling is not just a hobby for me; it's a way of life. Roaming the globe has given me a profound appreciation for its vast diversity and our relatively small place in it. I've embarked on solo journeys throughout Southeast Asia, America, and Europe, relishing the opportunity to explore new destinations, immerse myself in different cultures, and savor the flavors of unfamiliar cuisines.
It's more than just checking off tourist attractions; it's about understanding the world from the inside out, meeting new people, and truly comprehending their culture. Couchsurfing allows me to take my passion for exploration one step further, seeing each city from the perspective of a local and not just another tourist.
Each corner of the world holds its own unique charm, and I'm passionate about discovering it.
Interests
+ Mountains hold a special place in my heart. Whether it's a serene walk in the snow-capped Alps, a majestic experience I'd happily repeat a thousand times on any mountain, or the thrill of conquering the highest peaks for that breathtaking panoramic view, I'm drawn to their grandeur.
+ I thrive on challenges. Venturing into the depths of the ocean's darkness to witness the enchanting luminescence of plankton or scaling the highest summits for that unparalleled perspective keeps my adventurous spirit alive.
+ The world is my canvas, and I intend to keep painting my travel adventures across it. The thrill of exploring new horizons, immersing myself in diverse cultures, and discovering hidden gems fuels my wanderlust.
+ After a demanding week, there's nothing like indulging in the bliss of a full day's sleep. It's my way of recharging and rejuvenating for the adventures ahead.
+ Searching for that perfect place to anchor my life is a continuous quest. I'm open to suggestions and eager to explore new opportunities and possibilities.

Music, Movies, and Books
Passionate about the rhythm and melodies of life. Music is my heartbeat, whether the energetic beats of salsa, merengue, vallenato, or bachata get me moving or the soulful harmonies of jazz, blues, folk, and country that fill my spirit. However, there's one genre that doesn't resonate with me – Reggaeton. I just can't find the love for it!
As for books, as a child, I used to get lost in the captivating worlds of the fiction of Jules Verne and Kafka. I even enjoyed the challenge of works that required a second read for a better grasp, like those by Saramago and Ernesto Sabato. Lately, I was getting carried away by the enchanting novels of Latin American authors like Gabriel García Márquez, Isabel Allende, and José Mauro de Vasconcelos.
Nowadays, my reading list leans more toward technical literature related to my beloved profession.
Movies are a cherished pastime, whether I'm at the cinema or cozied up at home. I appreciate a variety of genres, from comedies to romantic tales, action-packed adventures, and futuristic science fiction. Even documentaries and dramas have a place in my cinematic heart. The only genre I tend to avoid is horror; however, I can handle suspense that doesn't veer into the bloodthirsty realm.
Let's chat about music, share book recommendations, or discuss our favorite films – except for horror, of course!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Solo travel has been a life-changing experience, offering personal growth, deep connections, and increased self-reliance. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, fostering adaptability and a profound appreciation for diversity. It revealed the beauty of solitude and the power of human connection, enriching my life and broadening my perspective on the world's beauty and my own potential.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm more in the learning process. Currently trying to discover myself and my inner self, but always open to sharing life experiences, deep talks, and lots of laughter.
I recently discovered that people often approach me trying to find a good ear to listen to them.
