About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Thinking about "what should be my current mission"!! Will let u know as soon as i find it out myself!! :o)

ABOUT ME

164 cm (5'4"?). Nice smooth tan. The rest of my "personal" description is, well, quite personal. ;-)

I think spending a couple of days with someone can be an amazing experience, and i think CS is quite an amazing idea.

I would like: to meet up with different kinds of people; to stay with them; and/or to offer them to stay with me. I like different, original, courageous, open-minded, bold and daring people.

I find more pleasure in the journey, & not in arriving at the destination. Life is too short, & i try to live/enjoy it to the fullest (in different ways).

LATEST: I've lately added many photos. Particularly you may want to check the following folders out afresh(clicking on these these links directly lead you to that particular folder)
1) Couch-Surfers;
2) Paris through my eyes;
3) At my university lab (Univ Paris 5);
4) Just me;
5) My room/couch.
(latest section - ends)

Regular Section:
If you want to be hosted by me, I would request you to Pleeease take out a little time to go through my profile first, (and especially the "Couch Information" section in the left column)!!

I know that/although it's long, but I assure you that you will find it interesting & will not be bored to death! :o)

The sub-sections down below are in order of importance!!

Regular intro: (Most Important sub-section)
Well, a rather difficult thing to do. Moreover a self-description also has a risk that the person describing him/herself may not be very objective. Some people might highly overrate themselves, while others, highly under-rate!! In any case, despite that risk, i think i would make an attempt here, and would try (at least try!) to say something that may give you a reasonably good overview about myself, about my ideas, my nature, etc.

Well, if i had just two points to make to describe myself, i'd say:
a) Expect to meet an absolute dreamer; an ordinary person, who loves to explore the alternative or unusual sides of things!!
and
c) Answer this: Are your choices and opinions different than the others? Do you seem to prefer the things that no one else does?? Well, if yes, then we have at least one thing in common!! Btw, Are you a risk-taker as well? There you go!! Now we have at least two things in common!!

Hey, Why was "a" followed by "c"? What happened to "b"??!!! Well, just as i said, one's got to do things in a "different" way (as a rule)!! ;)

===============

(Less Important sub-section)
My Nature & Other qualities: I think I am a very tolerant and a very open-minded person. I like to explore new horizons on a continual basis. I might as well also add that (i.e. i think that) I am a calm, honest, tolerant & a patient person.

I am a humanist, a pacifist an anti-consumerist, an amateur magician, a skeptic, & a free-thinker
with a reasonably good sense of humour (i guess!!) I believe that it's better to consume less than more. I respect nature (or at least try to). I don't smoke nor do I take any drugs. I don't have any pets.

I enjoy going out for long walks & discovering new/unusual places. Also, "They say I'm a dreamer, but I guess I am not the only one." :) I love to read diverse stuff. I love to interact with ppl. of different sorts. People say I look younger than my actual age. Dunno whether that's a good quality or a bad one! ;)

I have transformed from being an introvert, into an extrovert (or almost). But i do try to remain in the middle (i.e. neither remain 'too' lifeless, nor too active/excited/enthusiastic) -- though there occasionally "are" some ups & downs, but i'd say more often 'ups' now than 'downs' ;) (i.e. especially after this slow & gradual transformation!!)

I came to France a bit more than a year ago for my Masters. Though at that time I knew English well, & I didn't know French at all! One of the reasons for coming to France was also to learn French and to explore the french culture! I believe learning a new language & living in a new culture opens up a whole new world. I like going out from time to time (to restos., cinema, theatre), but I won't say that I am a party animal! I now plan to stay back in France (Paris) and continuing my higher studies for the moment.

Through CS, I'd like to meet ppl. who're open minded, & who're not afraid to take risks. The ones who love to travel & to interact with peoples from different cultures & who're willing to explore new possibilities. I hope most of the CS-ers would fit into that category. :) I take joy in discussing all sorts of things with different kinds of people, so among other things, you can be sure that we will have discussions on many diverse topics.

Outer appearance): Though i believe (and as the saying goes) : 'beauty lies in the eye of the beholder'!]. But some wise men say that it's a good idea "not" to keep extremely high expectations from other people. [This technique should always work well in all situations: In the worst case, you won't get too much disappointed, but in the best case, you might after all be very pleasantly surprised!! Who knows? ;P

But anyways, should i add that those, for whom, the outer appearance is more important than the person herself or himself that they'd be meeting, may i suggest that you'd probably do better to avoid meeting me, because you should beware of running the risk of encountering a rather ordinary looking, short guy with a not so coarse, heavy, manly or sexy voice! Perhaps the only consolation that I could give you is by adding that my skin color is "NOT" green!! ;o)

Some people might say I have a nice (& smooooth) tan ;-), but i'd rather suggest that you either see the many photos in my profile (i already have quite a few, and plan to add some more in the near future, so check back soon), or just meet up in person, & form your own, personal, and first-hand opinion about my "external-description", and of me "as a person"!!

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live.
I hold "Individual liberty" being more important than 'being submissive', either to the society, or the government, or to the popular and more accepted opinion of the day!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By hosting & being hosted by people of different cultures. Very occasionally, I go to the meetings as well - (but I prefer to go to smaller gatherings, say those with 2-10 people).

Create your own visitor map!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted, and been hosted by plenty of people entirely unknown to me (whether through CS, or outside of it). You may see some of them here :o)

Interests

Quite diversified: Humanism, skepticism, peace/Pacifism, exchanging ideas with different kinds of people, bohemianism, anti-consumerism, culture-jamming (ask me to find out what culture-jamming is, if you're interested) , walking, attaining "useless" knowledge, spreading crazy ideas, exploring unknown places in and around my place, reading, trying anything at least once, randomness, absurdity, chance encounters that build into friendships... Well, what else?

more...

Humanism; Equality; Social issues; Gender issues; wealth equity issues; Equality issues of all types...

Feminism (since there still remain so much inequality) ;

Human rights (since all humans still don't have equal rights, & as in George Orwell's words, some of them are more equal than others!!);

Travelling: because i find People, Culture, Languages interesting;

i think the list could just go on and on...

  • animals
  • pets

is about the nuclear conflict between india & pakistan. (the movie was i think initiated in the aftermath of the nuclear tests conducted by india in 1998, and soon followed by pakistan)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Discovering Paris and its surroundings. Actually
an entirely new discovery is made almost every month!! :)

Living on a spaceship throughout my life!!!

"Though living on earth is expensive, but it does offer you a free trip round the Sun, every year!!" ;-)
- not mine, (but i love this quote that i saw somewhere)

Teach, Learn, Share

Learn: I don't mind, being taught any new thing (no matter significant or insignificant it might be, or seem to others)

Please note that I like to acquire (learn) what maybe considered as "useless knowledge" by the general materialistic world standards. I think there is much much more to this world, than only caring about things that would just enable us to make more money!!

I would be quite interested in learning the following: Swimming (average level would do); Dance (would like to be taught the ones that are easy to learn, and which work in all situations).

Teach:
a) I can teach you the various typical words and pronunciations of the Sindhi Language (which is my mother-tongue), in return you could teach me your own language.

Btw, FYI, Sindhi is still spoken by millions of people worlwide. Currently a greater majority of Sindhi speakers reside either in the Maharashtra Province of India, or the southern Pakistani province called Sindh(yes, its goes by the same name today as well: "Sindh Province").

b) And of course, I can teach you some french!
[Though not an expert at it myself, but i'd say it's reasonably good, and i think i can surely teach u quite a bit] :-)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, Spain
