About Me

Hi folks!

I am Dominik (25, from Germany) with a passion for good talks, proper banters and cultural experiences. I enjoy profound literature, opera and theatre nights, open discussions and board game parties. I am pretty much easy going, open minded and interested in open up new perspectives whenever it's possible.
Some of my friends say I am quite funny, others would completely deny. (Let's say for a German my level of humor is slightly above average)

When it comes to philosophy, literature or political theory I am like a small boy, who's eyes are immediately beginning to shine. One could say I've got a thing for theory and knowledge.

I've done my undergraduate studies in philosophy and literature in Munich, lived some time in Vienna and Boston. During my gap year - after I finished my bachelor - I was responsible for coordinating all of the volunteers in the refugee work in Munich. I decided to continue my political engagement and moved to Frankfurt my graduate studies in political theory. For the last few month I've attended classes at the UofT as part of my exchange semester.

From the end of 2017 on I want to travel through Canada and the US and therefore meet as many people as I can for my trip. I think we do live in very interesting time and would like to discuss with people all over the continent today's world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's a great opportunity to get in touch with locals, share some time and none purchasable memories. Due to that it's the straightest possibility to meet different people in their surroundings and get a little insight how they fill their life with joy. More than all the touristic stuff of a city I am interested in the personal view of the people, the little special places they recommend and unique spots they like to visit.

I want to get to know a country through it's people and not through hotels. I am happy with any sleeping accommodation and through South America and having a proclivity for Harry Potter I am pretty much used to any couch, air mattress or cupboards.
