ABOUT ME

My boyfriend and I just moved to Humboldt County from St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, to finish school before we begin our lives as Biologists (he a Marine Biologist and me an Environmental Biologist). It seems like the responsible thing to do, but it limits our traveling abilities, so we've opened up our home to other travelers and their many wonderful stories and personalities. We LOVE company, entertaining, and the adventures that ensue. We're open-minded, easy-going, 420/215 friendly (no other drugs allowed, no exceptions), easily amused "tree-hugging dirt worshippers". So come on in, light up, kick back, and enjoy the groove!

PHILOSOPHY

Combine rastafarianism with buddhism and throw in the Mother Earth, and you have our philosophy. It's fluid, as we are, as life should be; love is our religion, laughter our magic, and the people our brothers and sisters.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have a couch, tons of floor space, air mattress and MEMORY FOAM toppers for your comfort. We also have lots of camping space in our backyard, if you so choose. Our home is open to travelers, and we're prone to spoiling those who are pleasant and appreciative (i.e., we've been known to cook dinner, breakfast, etc. and bring out the alcohol!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've always had our couch open to friends and family, but we've recently opened it up to new and random acquaintances as well. Our first hosting experience occured before we ever joined this site: we were having a great time at the Arcata fair in the plaza and throughout the day randomly met some artists and musicians who were there sharing their gifts. Somehow the universe just brought us all together and we decided to hit the beach for the sunset, and music ensued with lots of singing, stories, laughter, and wonderful new friendships.

From there we went back to our place, started a bonfire, cooked up some food, and the 10 or so of us just kicked back and enjoyed each others' talents and adventures for the rest of the night and the following day. What a great experience!! What an amazing group of artists, musicians, and all-around magnificent people!

We lived in the Caribbean for a summer and traveled to many of the islands of the USVI and BVI's. It was INCREDIBLE.

Some juggling skills (including diabolo), fire eating (though I have no tools right now), piano, guitar (amateur), hand drums, didgeridoo, crochet, various jewelry skills (w/ hemp), and leather craft.

We'd love to learn whatever we don't know how to do, and perfect what we do. We love talking about everything, and learning from other people: philosophy, history, sociology, anthropology, theories, art, science, paganism, homeopathy, etc.
