I like to explore historic/abandoned towns, take photos, and hike! My favorite part of traveling is meeting local people and visiting the hidden gems of their city. I'm currently in university where I am studying psychology and media/cultural studies. My family is from Latvia, by way of Alabama, and I am currently living in St. Paul Minnesota.

Laura (who I will be couchsurfing with) is also a student at my university, and she is studying neuroscience and psychology. She loves discovering culture through local, culinary experiences, visiting museums, and walking for hours on end in search of adventure. She is from Colombia and currently lives in St. Paul, Minnesota.

We both speak Spanish (Laura more fluently than me, haha), and would love to get to know our host(s)' favorite parts of Tenerife, Spanish cuisine, and local culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently working on environmental psychology research about the psychology of climate change, identity, and framing effects. My co-researcher Laura and I will be traveling to Tenerife, Spain, this summer, where we have been selected to present some of our ongoing research at the Congreso de Psicología Ambiental (PSICAMB) 2019 International Conference. We are looking for a host near the Universidad de La Laguna in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Spain from Monday, July 15 to Sunday, July 21, 2019.

My brother is an avid couchsurfer and has shared with me so many stories of his couchsurfing travels across the U.S. and Europe. I am excited to join this community as Laura and I travel to Tenerife, and have some fun stories to share as well!
