I seem to alternate between travelling and frantically haggling too many things every few years.

I laugh a lot. I love to cook and bake for people around me. I want a teepee and a hammock (I got the hammock now, just need the space). I like language (as a concept not one separate language) and words and accents. So I enjoy just listening to people and their little language quirks. My favourite words (in no particular order or language): bosorka, serendipity, tunnelbana, coquelicots, tranquilite, lilacs, hurricane, fredagsmys, klutz, umph.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

This is the first time I have been able to host and I am quite looking forward to it. It may not always be posssible but I'll do my best.

Thus far I have only surfed. And I have always loved it. Every time someone asks me, why I would couchsurf, and whether I am not scared, I have to explain that it takes a certain person to commit to actually host someone. An extraordinary person. Always had amazing experiences with people who were not only keen to host me but to chat and show me around.

One family has welcomed me for Thanksgiving two years in a row and then every time I've been in Los Angeles, even though they no longer are on couchsurfing. Others have made time in their busy schedule to meet me, host me, drop me off at bus stations, hare meals and great conversations...

Interessen

I've been told that I talk about my cameras like men talk about cars. My film SLR sleeps in the cupboard most of the time, because I haven't got the space for a darkroom atm, but my DSLR is always with me. If you've never smelled your hands after developing photos you may not understand but for me that is the most amazing smell of all.
I've been known to write poetry and plays, make paper maché sculptures in the dead of night.

I WILL bake for you. Gluten-free is not a problem, it's actually a pleasure. I am working on vegan. If you are a fool and do not like baked goods I am a damn good cook too.
