ABOUT ME

Hello!

My name is Lieke and the most important thing for you to know is that I love to travel! At the moment i am doing an internship in the United States to finish my engineering degree. In the weekends i would love to see more of the surroundings and couchsurfing seems a nice way to do so. In a previous travel through the united states i couchsurfed with my sister in San Francisco which was a great experience! I have travelled through Australia and New Zealand for one year in total and also went to South America for 8 months. During these travels i have met many interesting people from all over the world and with many of them i am still in contact. What i love about traveling is that one day you might be alone, the other day you might be in a bar drinking with people you have just met that day!

Some more information about myself, let's see... Apart from traveling i love to cook and therefore i am trying to get better at it :) ! Furthermore i love to go for drinks with friends or to the cinema but on the other hand a quiet night with a good book can also make me very happy :). Running is one of my hobbys as well. At the moment i do not have a couch available but when i am back in holland i will most certainly find a place where this will be possible!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As mentioned above, i have one couchsurfing experience so far. In 2009 i couchsurfed with my sister in San Francisco. It was a great experience and made me very enthusiastic about the concept! My sister is now hosting people in Holland and she is enjoying it very much.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Bolivia i volunteered in a animal sanctuary where i worked with monkeys. Although the living standards where very uncomfortable, the experience with working with these animals was so great that i will remember this forever!

Teach, Learn, Share

Difficult question but the main thing i would love to learn from other people is their way of thinking about life. I am always interesting in choices people have made and why. This might provide me with ideas i havent thought about before..
