About Me

I am a psychology student. I am going to be doing my masters at the University of Twente.
I am a very open person and although I am very shy in the beginning I love meeting new people (very ironic I know). I have always been surrounded by people of different cultures/ religions and I am excited to get to live in a new country!

Some facts about me:
- I was born in Zimbabwe so technically I used to be a millionaire in-fact I would even like to say a trillionaire. It's a shame that it was worth less than the paper it was printed on but still it's something.
- I have never broken a bone (clearly I'm not a risk taker although I am very clumsy so it is quite shocking that no bones have snapped....yet)
- I have never seen snow before but I say I love cold weather (not sure if that will all change once I am living in actual cold weather)
- I have an identical twin sister (and sadly I have to debunk the theory that we can telepathically communicate with each other). Although, we do finish each other's sentences.
- I am an animal lover. My family has lots of pets in Zimbabwe (2 adorable dogs, a next door neighbor's cat that frequently drops by but kind of hates everybody, and 8 parrots).
- I don't know how to ride a bicycle. This is a big one considering I am moving to the land of bicycles. However, I do have a reason for my lack of skills - at the age of 7 my sister and I took our bikes (the ones with training wheels) out to ride. Unfortunately my fingernail got caught and didn't make it (RIP). From that day on our little pink bikes were given away and never seen again. Also in the country I live in not many people ride bikes since the roads are full of potholes (massive ones that can damage a car tire - I have witnessed many cars that have lost the battle against a pothole), so because of the road condition, needing to know how to ride one was never really necessary.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am about to move to Europe and hopefully have the opportunity to travel and explore new places. Since hotels are expensive it makes sense to use couch surfing and actually meet people along the way.

Also since I know 0 people in Europe I need friends. Desperately need friends. Ok maybe I should play hard to get. I kind of want friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Way too many....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Eaten an Ostrich egg
- Slept in a hammock tent (I really don't recommend it - I literally got no sleep). The tent has a huge hole running down the middle, which means you have to sleep at a 45 degree angle (I was not great with my angles and fell down to the ground multiple times)
- Walked with lions
- Not broken a bone. Really. It is a miracle it has not happened.
- Volunteer work, I mostly worked with children at orphanages, HIV programs, and teaching at underfunded schools. With most people who volunteer they go to a new country, build a house, and leave. However, I got the opportunity to watch these children grow up over the period of a few years. I also volunteered at an old age home for a year (grandparents really work hard on their grandkids behalves to get them dates)

Teach, Learn, Share

What do you want to learn? I can google it and let you know the answer. Basically I'm excellent at googling things.

On a serious note I can cook (vegetarian food) and can bake (although I have burnt a few cakes in my day but I promise it was the ovens fault).

Also love to share stories and talk about psychology but not in a creepy way where you feel like you are being analysed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I promise I have a spotless criminal record. Or is that something a criminal would say? Basically I like to think I am a good person and that we can have a good laugh over a beer. Also I promise to bring some tea.. you are probably thinking, tea?... but seriously Zimbabwean tea is amazing.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Cyprus, Finland, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Slovakia, South Africa

Countries I’ve Lived In

Israel, Zimbabwe
