When I travel I am quite autonomous - I usually have some plan of what I want to visit and I definitely do not expect my hosts to bring me to the touristic places of their city. However, if the host has time, I am glad to spend some time together (have a dinner, a walk to the only-locals-know areas etc.) If it turns out you won't have time to hang out, I will definitely be fine on my own as well.

I have a passion for craft beer, it has been one of my main interests since ~2015. I am also a homebrewer, though I do it quite rarely due to my laziness and it being a bit tricky within an apartment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is always interesting to meet some locals and see how they live and learn their approach for life. So far I have done only the surfing part. I have surfed in several countries during my solo trips, also together with friends during our Balkan trip (in Turkey, Macedonia, Serbia and Greece).

Interests

I don't go to clubs and I dislike crowded mass events - I prefer nice pubs with good beer, cosy cafes, small concerts. I love going into nature - have a walk in a forest or at the sea, camping. Every now and then I do some geocaching.

A large part of my music are small Latvian bands that existed for few years in 90's or are still playing small concerts in underground pubs. In general I like: classic rock, grunge, alternative, folk, punk rock, post punk (such as Pixies, Joy Division, The Beatles, Queen, Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, The Cure, Yann Tiersen, Jeff Buckley, John's Children, Отава Ё, Židrūns, Hospitāļu iela, Krāsa).
